Franken to Seek Senate Seat as I Predicted: Are You Listening to Me Yet?

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

Whenever I step over the line of pre-approved official reality the unsubscribe messages pour into my e-mail box; but here I go again! Many people have asked me about my opinion of Air America Radio and their liberal hosts. Most of the questions relate to Al Franken or Randi Rhodes. I have answered questions about both of these people many times, in e-mail, in person, on stage and on the air…on the record; and my assessment of Franken seems to be playing out just as I described many times.

I described Al Franken as a good man who sold his soul. It is my personal opinion that he was approached by the people who run our government and control our information flow from behind the scenes. From what I see I felt that Franken was told that he can keep his place in public life if he prescribed to pre-approved reality; the same pre-approved reality that we see depicted by the corporate media. I specifically said that I felt Franken would be allowed to hold public office, specifically a Senatorial seat, as long as he did not cross the line and publicly discuss any issues that were not approved by the people who have complete control over our political system.

This assessment is the only one I could come up with to explain why Franken refuses to discuss the mountains of evidence proving that elections in this nation are no longer in the hands of the voters and that Bush, and most of Congress, are in office because the people who predetermine the political landscape for us wanted it that way. The media simply work to build an environment of believability for the eventuality of the decisions of the people behind the scenes. It also explains why Franken pretends to not notice that there is a ton of very valid undisputed evidence that contradicts the official explanation of the events of 9/11. And last but not least it explains why Franken almost exclusively invites members of “think tanks” to be guests on his program.

Well, did you ever look into what think tanks are? Did you ever wonder who pays to create and run think tanks? Think tanks are the most visible and nefarious elephant in the room when it comes to the secretive powers that control our government. Everyone talks about them, but nobody ever explains them. We accept them as part of the political landscape but we never look into what they are, what they do, the power they yield and who is behind them.

Al Franken went from a politically vocal comedy writer to a possible Senatorial candidate; all the while he addressed only the topics and issues that were embraced for public scrutiny by the corporate media and he has worked very hard to discredit those who simply wanted to question tangible evidence that contradicts officially approved reality. And all the while his pre-approved reality was carefully groomed and observed by his regular committee of think tank representatives. Do you think there is a connection here?

I forgot one vital aspect of Franken’s ticket to stardom; he has faithfully prescribed to the “blank check for Israel” policy. There is no criticism of Israel worthy of discussion in Franken’s world and any facts that reflect poorly on Israel indicate nothing but anti-Semitism; no matter how true they may be!

Don’t let Al Franken’s little feud with Bill O’Reilly fool you they are one in the same. FOX, CNN, ABC, Air America (post Mike Malloy), are all the same. They try their best to get you to believe that bias is the main problem with the media when in reality the problem is not bias, it is deception and most of this deception comes in the form of omission of information. It’s not what they say, it is what they don’t say, and Franken don’t say what isn’t approved by the people behind the scenes and that’s a fact! Think about it!

Beware the Fake Media Watchdog

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

This is an open letter from the editor of to Rory O’Connor in response to his interview with the CBS News Chief Sean McManus. The interview can be read here:

I hope you remember me. I am the editor of We met at one of Danny Schecter’s C-SPAN interviews and then again at his office in NY. We had discussed possible collaborations at the time.

I just read your interview with the CBS news chief and I have one thing to say…I am stunned. I am absolutely stunned that you had face time with this person and those are the questions you chose to ask.

America has never been led down a more dangerous path by our news media. The levels of deception and information omission by our corporate news media have never been greater while the level of distraction, (i.e. Laci Peterson and missing hikers) has never been more prevalent and you use this valuable opportunity to confront one of the criminals in chief to ask questions as if you were a high school kid doing his first interview with your principal. After 2 paragraphs I was expecting you to ask him about his favorite color.

Opportunities Passed (I would have said missed but by all appearances you did not miss anything…you knew exactly what you were doing…and not doing):

You could have asked him why six years into a PNAC driven global war on terror, war on civil rights and war on the US Constitution no mention of PNAC has been made on CBS, not even on 60 Minutes.

You could have asked him why CBS News broadcasts have not informed the public about the fact that 7 of the so called 9/11 hijackers are still alive or about the hundreds of other contradictions between the official story of 9/11 and the official body of evidence.

You could have asked him if he thought PNAC’s published desire for a “new Pearl Harbor” represents a reasonable and valid concern about who had motives while also having the means and opportunity to conduct the attacks of 9/11 and if he thought it was too far fetched to think that it is just coincidence that the US would have our first new Pearl Harbor in sixty years when men who wrote about the the benefits of having one just happen to be in positions to prevent, permit or conduct the events of 9/11, our new Pearl Harbor!

You could have asked him why CBS has not highlighted the ten thousand six hundred scientists, scientific researchers and Nobel laureates who signed a petition condemning the the Bush administration for political interference; thus endangering our health and life on Earth.

You could have asked him why the entire news media and political apparatus of our nation are incestuously intertwined with secretive organizations like the Council on Foreign Relations.

You could have asked him why there has never been a single news report informing the public that the Federal Reserve Bank is not part of the government and is a private, for profit corporation that appears to completely control our monetary policy, recessions, inflations and economic collapses while it answers to no US government body including Congress or the executive branch.

Instead you chose to ask questions like: “Is it true you are the living reincarnation of Roone Arledge?”, “You’ll make more money this year?” and “Are you looking at new potential revenue sources?”

Need I say more?

Rory, I could go on and on but you get the point. I met you several times and I thought you were one of us: members of the reality based world who care about our nation and global community. Your close ties with one of the people I respected most, Danny Schecter, served as stamp of approval for you in my book.

By virtue of your close ties with Danny, after reading your interview I also question Danny’s legitimacy as a media watchdog. I also don’t know with whom I should be more angry, the head of CBS News who, because of his position as a leader of a corporate news entity, is an enemy of all American citizens, or with you; a person who had the chance to confront the enemy and instead played along with him and helped to legitimize him.

A very stunned and disappointed - make that angry,

Muslims Beware! BushCo Thrives on Collective Guilt

Monday, December 4th, 2006

I’ve heard it all and I’ve even caught myself echoing some of the thoughts myself (mostly after 9/11 when I really believed the official story)…”Islam is a radical religion and some of the radical Muslims are a danger to the world!” The message was readily absorbed by a population with very little knowledge of Islam and even less understanding of its practitioners.

There surely is some validity to the statement. There are radical Islamic people, perhaps even many radical Islamic people. Most people with any rationality were reviled by the extremism they witnessed in the beliefs of the Taliban or the rantings of Osama bin Laden. As westerners, we have no way understanding or accepting anyone radical enough to kill someone for simply expressing critical thoughts about their religion. We have no tolerance for people who treat women as if they were possessions to be owned and fully dominated. And, in fact, rational people should not feel comfortable about sharing a planet with such radical people. But let me remind you that there are other extremist who share our world as well…such as the fundamentalist Christians who want to tell everyone how to live their lives and who don’t care what they do or whom they hurt while they force their ways on others. And then there is the segment of Jewish radicals who actually openly admit that they and they alone are God’s chosen people and that Palestinians are not entitled to what they are entitled to; like a small strip of land in the Middle East over which they would gladly destroy the world.

So let me remind my Muslim hating countrymen and women who are being led towards bigotry and intolerance by George W. Bush, that only a generation ago, the Jews of Europe went through a experience similar to one that Americans are creating for the Muslims of the world. All Jews were targeted in an attempt to exterminate them because their actions and beliefs supposedly posed a threat to or offended others. Jews were different. Jews believed in a different God. And, surely, some Jews, as in all groups, were actually extreme in their lifestyle and some surely deserved to be derided. My Jewish grandmother used to say that Jews don’t need enemies because they had each other. By this she meant that every group had its wrongdoers and should look inward at itself, because there were those among her own people who triggered irrational and undeserved prejudices towards all Jews.. She understand that it was not the fault of every Jew that they were targeted collectively, and murdered by the millions.. In the same way, the behavior of those on the extreme fringe of Islam is being used as the excuse for targeting all Muslims around the world. Americans had better start realizing this.

The reality is that members of all radical religions are destroying this world and they all pose a threat to people who are not of their particular cult. Anyone who does not buy into their story automatically becomes one of “them” in this increasingly divided, increasingly radical and increasingly violent world. Maybe some Jews really did trigger Hitler’s anger and maybe some Muslims really did and still do trigger anger in Americans but let’s learn from history for a change. And using history’s lessons as a guideline maybe we can learn to take a closer look at events that trigger genocidal reactions. As in the case of the Jews during World War II, maybe the targets of public rage don’t actually warrant that rage at all.

In fact, while you’re at it, my fellow Americans, take a really close look at the most recent event that triggered your rage known as 9/11. You may just discover that your rage has been woefully misdirected by the very people who actually pulled that trigger in the first place! You may very well have been duped into hating an easy target: people who are different, people with a different God, and people who may have extremists among them. And maybe that hatred is so very wrong. Think about it!

Jewish People: The Human Shields Held Hostage by Israel

Sunday, December 3rd, 2006

Lets put the rhetoric coming from Iran and Israel into some perspective:

We hear a great deal of talk from Iran questioning the right of Israel to exist and we are now hearing Israel refer to Iran as pre-WWII Germany. To understand what is happening, it is important to examine what is actually happening in the region.  But that’s almost impossible.  There can be no open, honest discussion of Israel and its policies without the Jewish being used as metaphorical hostages. On the Iran -Israel counter accusations alone, it is obvious that the American media will never allow an open discussion that includes any criticism of Israel, nor will they consider the merits of anyone who dares to speak against the actions of the State of Israel.

Please keep these points in your mind as the American media spin the reality of that situation to conform to a particular bias:.

1. Iran is not threatening “Jews” nor are they questioning the right of “Jews” to exist. They are questioning the legitimacy of the decision by extra regional authorities to grant control of Palestine to the Jewish people. They question the legality and morality of the decision to do this.

2. As part of the argument that Iran is making, they cite the mistreatment of the Palestinian people by Israel and they cite the dozens of UN Security Council resolutions (not to mention the 30-40 unanimous resolutions that were vetoed by the US) that Israel has violated over the years. Click here for details on those violations.

3. Israel is not now and never was synonymous with the Jewish people. Israel is not a religion, it is a state. It is the state of Israel that is the target of Iran’s rhetoric and in most cases is the target of anger and outrage of people around the world. You can include me in that mix. And I, like most (not all) of the people who discuss Israel and the actions of the state of Israel, do not direct those comments to the Jewish people or Judaism at all.

4. Discussions about Israel are not discussions about Jews. They are political discussions.

On a personal note: I have often witnessed anti-Semitism. Most of the anti-Semitism I have witnessed took place in the work place in corporate America. Most of this anti-Semitism took place in my presence because I am an avowed atheist and I don’t happen to look as if I have any Jewish (among other) heritage. I actually had a bar mitzvah years before I went neutral as an adult.  I could not deal with the hypocrisy of religion so I decided to simply be a good person. I did not need an ancient book to tell me how to do this. The anti-Semitism that I witnessed came mostly from white Christian males in very powerful corporate positions. I wintessed it when I worked at computer firms, I saw it at the Associated Press, I saw it at Verisign/ Network Solutions and I saw itat many of the big wig happy hour sessions with fortune 100 clients over the years. It is everywhere. On the other hand, growing up Jewish I also witnessed bigotry by Jews every where I went. The word “shvartza” was used by so many people that I thought it was the real term used to describe black people. I saw everyone who was not Jewish treated as a second class citizen. I have seen prejudice from two sides of the aile, and let me tell you that it’s everywhere. We have enough of it in this world, so please don’t pretend it is not there when it is.  We have to get beyond the bigotry this time around.

We have to reach a point where we can discuss Israel, its government and its policies without falling back on accusations of anti-Semitism.  This is not about bigotry, it is about conflict and resolution.  Can we ever reach the point of looking at both sides of the unending and relentless hostility in the region without hearing about the victimization of the Jewish people?  Oddly enough, the debate is open and unhindered in Israel, where people are permitted to openly criticize their government and rail against the oppression they perceive in the region.

Let’s get to that point in the United States of America.  We have to be able to discuss the State of Israel, from every angle, openly and honestly,  without reverting to the ploy of using Jews as human shields.  Such emotional blackmail only serves to stand in the way of any progress and to ensure that the precarious situation between Israel and the Palestinians will continue to increase as they have until now, and will eventually inflame the entire region. Think about it.

Why Shouldn’t Iran Support the Iraqi Insurgency?

Sunday, November 26th, 2006

It was the United States that encouraged or more accurately ensured Saddam Hussein go to war with Iran in the 1980s. Ronald Reagan’s war consultant to Iraq at the time was none other than Donald Rumsfeld. Donald Rumsfeld and the United States supplied the arms and intelligence to Iraq helping them to kill Iranians for the better part of a decade. The mass graves that we hear about so often when our media demonize Saddam Hussein are filled with Iranians; many of whom are in those graves thanks to American war technology and intelligence; much of which was provided by none other than Donald Rumsfeld. So I ask you, why the hell would anyone question Iran for fueling the current insurgency in Iraq? If there was ever a justification for causing trouble this is it!

While I have no particular love for any radical religious totalitarian government, Islamic, Christian or Jewish, I have to say I am neither surprised nor angry at Iran for making the situation in Iraq worse. History clearly shows that the American & British governments and corporations (can you say oil companies or military industrial complex) are the big trouble makers in the Middle East. Whose bright idea was it to create a Jewish state in the middle of an Arab region on Arab land? Who the hell thought that would result in a nice peaceful region emerging?

Well, actually America and Britain are big trouble makes everywhere, supplying the many of the reasons for conflict and then supplying the tools, weapons, training, and rebels and let’s not forget evil dictators to nations all over the world. When it comes to creating the industry of conflict where the real losers are the citizens of the word America and Britain are surely the equal opportunity suppliers!

So lo and behold we finally see a situation for a nation that had been brutally victimized by the blood thirsty west to enjoy a little payback and everyone is outraged! Hello! What would you do? I hate war. I hate hatred. I hate religion and all the evil that it has brought to the world. Mostly I hate anyone that poses a risk to the well being of my family and my country. So let’s be clear here, it is not now and never was Iraq or Iran that posed a threat to me, my family or my nation. The people who caused these problems are the same people who wanted to make an obscene amount of money doing obscene things like keeping us from having safe, clean, war preventing renewable energy sources and people who make money financing wars. People who start wars are never the people who fight in them yet they are the ones we should really be angry at; not the victims of those wars who now have just reasons for seeking revenge. Think about it!

Can We Call Iraq a Quagmire Yet?

Friday, November 24th, 2006

There is nothing to win in Iraq. The ever-changing reasons given for invading Iraq by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Colin Powell and the criminal U.S. corporate media are now moot. We surely did not have to go to war to protect America from some mythical grave and gathering threat because it has now been proved that the threat never existed. So, the logical conclusion is that there is nothing at all to win here. You don’t evaluate the actions of a bully like America beating up a weakling in terms of winning or losing; you simply measure the severity of the beating. Bullies don’t beat up little guys to protect themselves; but everyone knows that. Well, not everyone.

At any rate, the mission was really accomplished. I should say the missions were accomplished. The mission was actually twofold. The first goal was to start a war; a very expensive never ending war. This would satisfy the fascist global financial elite and international bankers whose real goal is pretty much to own everything on this planet. You see, war is great for these people. They get to finance wars. Private banks such as the Federal Reserve get to charge us interest for lending the U.S. money. War is the single most expensive endeavor a nation can undertake. Central bankers love war. They feed on war like leeches sucking the blood of their host. And what better person to get rid of than Saddam Hussein? He was using the profits of his nation’s oil for something other than American corporate profits. His oil money was going towards paying off his nations debt, providing education and health care for his people. The capitalists known as central bankers and the big greedy oil companies could not allow that! So what better a target for another war than Iraq?

Then there is the other part of the perfect war storm…Israel! This war served to eliminate a leader who was an enemy of Israel. Let me rephrase that; he was an enemy of the leaders of Israel who continue to commit atrocities against the Palestinians. As a matter of fact he may have been the only leader of any nation in the region to help the Palestinians at all; and Israel can not allow this; nor can the Zionists who influence and in the case of the Bush administration define American foreign policy.

That being said, we are now in Iraq. As I already said - we can not win. Staying will not do anything other than kill more Americans, cost the American tax payers more than they can every afford to pay and make the war profiteers richer that the mind can comprehend. We can not leave there because then the even greater bloodshed that may occur will surely be blamed on America; and rightfully so.

So what do you call it when you can not stay and you can not go? Have the media forgotten the word? Let me remind them…it is not “dilemma” or “decision”. It is not about “cutting and running” vs. “adapting to win.” The word is “QUAGMIRE!” Period, end of story. Think about it!

No Oil? No Israel? No Stability? No Problem!

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

This nation and arguably the world are focusing quite a bit of attention on Iraq and the Middle East. Except, despite that focus, we are not really taking note of anything Israel does, no matter how egregious. The media are indeed focusing on the stability of the Middle East and suddenly the average American is waking up to the fact that there are serious questions about what instability in Iraq means to American national security. Of course we don’t question what the actions of Israel have to do with destabilizing the Middle East; because it is American policy and the policy of the controlled media not to question the actions of Israel.

OK, so let’s say the Middle East stability depends only on the actions of Arabs. Let’s say Americans are finally starting to pay attention, or I should say the media, more accurately mind control apparatus of the people who really control this nation, are now focusing your attention on this vital issue known as Middle East stability; make that the stability of the Middle East sans the instability that may be caused by the actions of Israel.

Well, let me ask you this…why are we more concerned about the stability of the Middle East than we are about the stability of say, the Democratic Republic of Congo? Why is the most unstable region of the world with the highest level of human suffering and despair completely ignored by the entire American corporate news media? Why is the only corporate news network that covers issues like this, Al Jazeera, being kept off American airways? Could it be because the situation in the Congo does not involve oil or Israel? Could it be that the despair and horror taking place there is fueling tremendous profits for American weapons manufacturers who seem to arm every despot on the planet including our own enemies?

The fact is that the people who control the U.S. media do not want you to give one damn about anything that does not cause you to fall in line with their personal ideology. Whatever select pieces of news and information must appear in our media that will cause Americans to support Israel, oppose Israel’s enemies and oppose any nation whose leader decides that their nation’s natural recourses and assets should benefit the citizens and not the corporations, will indeed be presented to the public. Any news or information that exposes the criminals who own this planet and profit both financially and ideologically by death, destruction and discrimination, will be kept from the public. Well, not as long as I and my fellow independent legitimate news bearers and organization have something to do with it! Keep in mind that we are not “alternative news” sources, we are the legitimate news sources. They, the corporate media, are not!

So if there is news out there that makes you realize that the oil companies and their representatives in our government are not acting in your best interest, or if Israel violates dozens of U.N. resolutions and commits atrocities that would turn even a peace loving, flag burning Air America worshiping bleeding heart liberal into a revenge obsessed suicide bomber, we’ll report it. I just hope you don’t unsubscribe because we inform you about what really happens in the real world. We don’t always like what we are reporting, but if we are going to make this world a better place…we have to know where the real problems are; and the corporate media are protecting the bad guys! Think about it!

Some Thoughts

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

When I write about certain topics in my newsletter I sometimes play a little game with myself. I try to guess how many people will unsubscribe that day! I am pretty good at predicting high unsubscribe days. It’s easy. All I have to do is point out obvious, true, factual, verifiable but negative aspects about Israel, religion (mostly Christianity) or Democrats and bingo; let the unsubscribe extravaganza begin! I think out of everything I am exposed to in this line of work the most disturbing thing I face is knowing that some of the good people who turn to me for information and perhaps some perspective on the issues we face still refuse to admit that some of the things that they believe in may not be true.

I hate to be the first one to say this but there are bad apples everywhere and some of those apples are huge! Just yesterday the wonderful do no wrong Israelis once again obliterated a family of innocent civilians. Nineteen men, women and children bombed to death in a single action. This is one of hundreds of such events that take place at the hands of the Israelis where thousands of innocent civilians are killed. Time and time again Israel’s actions get condemned by human rights organizations, the UN and nations around the world, sans America. Israel is responsible for the deaths of more innocent civilians than all the Palestinian terrorists combined, and that is a verifiable undisputed fact.

Each time one of these so called mistakes is made by Israel we are told that they will launch an internal investigation into the “unfortunate mistake”. These investigations usually entail the explicit exclusion of outside investigative bodies and the investigation virtually always ends without finding any fault on the part of the Israelis.

In the mean time Iraq is getting ready to hang Saddam Hussein for killing 148 Kurds in the 80s. There is something unfair and unbalanced about the perception of the actions of Israel as compared to Saddam. We have grown accustomed to viewing atrocities that we or our friends commit with rose colored glasses. I wonder how people would feel about these events if they saw them all listed together without the culprits being identified. I wonder if people would still view one event as a non event and the other event as a hangable offense.

I guess I wonder most about why people turn away from me when I think out loud about things like this as I search for answers. I wonder when people will realize that finding and admitting fault is the only way to prevent that fault from getting worse. Most of all I wonder why my list will shrink once again today.     Think about it!

Let Iraqis Solve “Their Own” Problems?

Monday, November 6th, 2006

I am hearing a lot of talking heads speaking about pulling troops out of Iraq because they (and other nations in the middle east, make that other than Israel) “should solve their own problems.” I have a better suggestion for the future: how about letting other nations “create” their own problems! From the British Empire to the American secretive black op driven foreign policy apparatus it sure seems like many trouble regions in this world have bloody Anglo fingerprints on them! I almost forgot to mention the painfully obvious problems in Iraq caused by the even more obvious American invasion!

So while I agree that America should let other nations solve their own problems in many cases I think it would be a better idea if we stopped creating or fueling those problems in the first place! Think about it!

The War in Iraq IS the ECONOMY, Stupid!

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Is everybody in this nation an idiot? What will it take to detoxify us from the mindset created by the criminal U.S. news media? They keep telling us things that sound reasonable until we spend about eight seconds thinking about what they tell us. That is why I tell my readers to “think about it”  every single day!

We are now being told that the voters of this nation (who will not have their votes counted because we are living under a coup brought to you via electronic voting, etc), consider the war in Iraq (which should more accurately be called the invasion of Iraq), a more important issue than the economy in their evaluation of candidates this vote stealing season. (Yes, I said vote stealing; we have not had a legitimate election this century!…Think about THAT!)

Well, the reality is that the Iraq war is perhaps the biggest economical issue that our nation faces and every single American other than the Bush/Cheney cabal of war and energy profiteers are suffering the financial effects of the invasion of Iraq! For every dollar that is spent on destroying Israel’s enemy for them a dollar is taken from a program that would benefit Americans. From health care, to food for the poor, to fire fighting, to school teachers, to roads, to pollution, to researching new sustainable clean energy sources to anything and everything that would make our lives better the financial costs of invading Iraq have had dramatically negative effects.

Then there are the costs associated with rebuilding our depleted military. That’s great for the war profiteers who started this thing; you know: the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rice/PNAC cabal. What about the costs of taking care of the Iraq war vets and helping those who suffer permanent injuries or mental trauma. Oops, I am sorry, you can forget that one! America does not take care of their vets. Especially Americans who start wars. As a matter of fact they CUT funding for taking care of vets, so please forgive me for mentioning that one!

While you support the record profits of Exxon Mobile and Chase Bank (as they increase fees for everything except saying the word “Chase”; and that fee may not be far off thanks to the criminal syndicate known as the U.S. Congress), your tax dollars are being used on everything, except you! The Iraq invasion was the most costly crime committed so far by the invaders (the PNAC/Bush cabal), who took over this nation via electoral coup and with eight seconds of thinking anyone would realize this! So to my enemies in the media I say this: TvNewsLIES readers know that IRAQ IS THE ECONOMY; STUPID! Think about it!
