Jesse,
I have continually asked myself this same EXACT question. The ACLU (of which I am a member) has been shooting off law suits left and right, only to be smacked down time and again.
A lawyer (I believe his name is Greenwald) who has his own blog ( and I think wrote a book as well), pisses and moans about the daily rape of our civil rights, but the only thing that I have read on his blog as far as any action to take is, wait for it... CENSURE. How insultingly insipid.
That attitude also begs the question "Who is truly concerned for our country, and who is 'in on the con' (or at least doing their best to make a profit from it while they can?").
Anyway, not being an attorney,(and as it seems to me to be too far gone for that, as apparently there are no laws governing the government), one phrase keeps coming to mind; "There are more of us than there are of them".
What do you think, Jess?

Legally no. Not even illegally and that is the saddest part of the scenario that you described and the one that has been on mind for some time. We still are the most powerful nation complete with all the latest weapons of mass destruction that can and is turned on our own citizens. More weapons are on the drawing tables that extend beyond this world. We are at the wide river between now and freedom and the bridge has been blown up and it is too far to swim. People like us can only write about what is wrong, we are not the change agents. Economics is the way to destroy what is wrong in this country but the tax on our nation will be cruel and spread to 85 percent that are vulnerable. We see the signs of national economic failure with the decline in the value of the dollar and that is the beginning. The national debt is another. Import imbalance of payments is another. When oil is traded in euros yet another. These are the kind of weapons that will destroy this unjust system my friend.
