Facts chcked and the verdict is: We're both right. I related what I saw on C-Span the day of that hearing. You related what was written up the next day in the Baltimore Sun, which was an interesting article that others can find here:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/bal-te.to.krongard16nov16,0,1729563.story

Since you didn't credit a source I assumed that you saw the same hearing I did. Perhaps in the future you could include a credit or link so that we can all stay on the same page. Just a suggestion.

I think you are the one who has the facts wrong. Here is a quote from the Congressional memorandum explaining what happened. Please check your facts before you post

At this hearing, Inspector General Howard J. Krongard testified that his brother, Alvin “Buzzy” Krongard, told him that he was not on the board of Blackwater USA and had no connections to Blackwater. Yesterday, in response to a letter from the Committee, Buzzy Krongard called the Committee staff and said that contrary to Howard Krongard’s testimony, he did tell his brother about his relationship with Blackwater.

Check it out yourself. Just google Buzzy Krongard calls Congress.

I watched the most recent hearings and you seem to have gotten your facts jumbled. Buzzy Krogard did not call the Comittee, his brother Howard called him during a break. That was after Howard said he would find out what his brother's status was - and he did. And to be fair, how many of you know all the details of your siblings work relationships? And would you want to be questioned by Congress about them? Howard then recused himself from any investigation or audit of Blackwater as he said he would should it turn out his brother was associated with them. Where was this alleged perjury you saw? Another point, Howard was under oath when answering all the questions. He gave real, substansive answers to all their questions and was clearly well prepared. Like a professional. Waxman admitted, under pressure from Rep. Shays that none of his accusers were under oath, then he fudges and said it was understood that they were giving testimony as though they were under oath. His demeanor was rude and aggressive. I expect that from the Republicans in Congress but not the Democrats. Up until this point I had been a fan of Waxman but this hearing was a travesty. He chose to repeatedly grill one of the few people in this crummy government who actually does his job and does it well! There's more than enough bad actors in this government so why pick on the guy whos doing his damn job? You can't throw a rock in Washington without hitting a Bushie breaking the law - why not go after them????

I'm glad you brought that up. They're all interconnected like the web of a poisonous spider. Remember that Marvin Bush's firm was in charge of security at the World Trade Center on 9/11. They're all on big happy family of murderers and thieves. That's exactly why I believe there is no way any of them will be brought to justice in our lifetime. It will take historians decades to unravel the strands that date back far before our time and will continue into the foreseeable future. Sad, but most probably, true.

I really don't care to comment on Bonds, in my eye he is innocent unless proven otherwize.
With regards to Krongard (Howard), he is already a criminal because we got to see and hear his LIE as he spoke it. Don't forget that it was "Buzzy" Krongard who purchased a great deal of put options against the airlines just prior to Washington's attack on New York ( Yes, I mean 9/11/01 ) . At the time good ol' "Buzzy" was a senior level official with the CIA. Huh?
It was the "Bonesmen" and they take care of their own. Don't hold your breath for justice lest you expire...

This article was not meant to either defend or condemn Barry Bonds, but to point out the vast chasm that exists in the media coverage of actions that affect the nation. Bonds' alleged perjury is a matter for a jury to decide, but will affect a handful of people in the entire world. The actions of Harold Krongard were totally unreported and affect the lives of millions..... especiallhy in the light of what has been uncovered about Blackwater and it's huge military and intelligence complex.

I have no quarrel with your views about celebrity crime, but again, my focus was on the lack of accountability of any member of the Bush Crime Family.

I have far less faith in Waxman, much as I admire the man, in this climate of political concern. The Thanksgiving ploy is fione, but relatively meaningless, as any appointment will be void once Bush is out of office. But it is about time some backbone appears anywhere in government.

Bottom line: I hope YOUare right, and I am wrong...but I wouldn't put money on that....

I'm not going to be so negative yet to think that nothing will happen to Msr. Krongard. Waxman isn't the type of fellow I'd want to deal with if I was in trouble. I red on "Crooks and Liers" yesterday that RollCall.com is reporting that:

"Senator Harry Reid is considering making some Senators stay behind in DC Thanksgiving time to prevent President Bush from ramming through what are called recess appointments bypassing the Senate, because they’re out of town and installing his own choices for key positions without a single vote in the Senate. Congress is already busy digging up and dealing with the deeds of previous Bush appointees like State Department Inspector General Howard Krongard whose stunning Blackwater testimony we told you about yesterday and about whom more in a moment. Now Senator Reid has his eyes on potential appointees such as James Holsinger Mr. Bush’s choice for Surgeon General under fire for anti-gay positions in his church work and still yet to answer written questions from the Senate. We learn now from the Arkansas Democrat Gazette that Mr. Holsinger resigned from a seminary board on Monday anticipating that Mr. Bush will circumvent the confirmation process with a recess appointment to the Surgeon General position over Thanksgiving.

Senator Reid deploying a token force of Senators in the Capital sort of a watch guard to block recess appointments from the President. How rare is this and what does it say about the status of our government?"

This is VERY rare and I'd say some politicians are finally getting a conscience. But it is election time coming up after-all. But if Congress does stay in session and does not take a break, I'd say Krongard is in trouble. I watched him blathering over his lies on a video played on Crooks and Liars and LMAO. I hope they get 'em.

With regard to Barry Bonds, he deserves whatever he gets, plain and simple. Basicaly he has been tampering with history by using steroids throughout his career as he never would have racked up that many home runs without them. I hope if he ever comes up as a possible inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame, he does't get in. But how many othe MULTI-million dollar athletes get away with just about anything anyway? Look at OJ.

Sounds like crime and punishment as usual, under the current White House.
Which obviously means no punishment for anyone who is in lockstep.
