America No More

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

What has been made very clear by the invasion of Iraq, the Patriot act and the ineffective response by the US government to hurricane Katrina is that neoconservative ideology dictates that government is for 2 things: war & eliminating civil and human rights.

The notion of “smaller government” serves one purpose: to snatch the wealth associated with government and place it in the hands of the ruling elite. Contrary to popular opinion the economic state of America is moving along as planned. The costly Iraq invasion and hurricane Katrina, combined with ever increasing energy and health costs combined with “privatization” of many government entities, are causing the wealth of this nation to shift out of the hands of most Americans into the hands of a few (less than 10,000).

America is no longer America. It has been dismantled to such a point that it is hard to imagine any kind of real recovery without an all out world wide overthrow of our ruling elite. Think about it!

Subject: FEMA, New Orleans delta flood control projects, Bush ‘actions’: a

CHRONOLOGY…. Here’s a timeline that outlines the fate of both FEMA and
flood control projects in New Orleans under the Bush administration. Read
it and weep:

January 2001: Bush appoints Joe Allbaugh, a crony from Texas, as head of
FEMA. Allbaugh has no previous experience in disaster management.

April 2001: Budget Director Mitch Daniels announces the Bush
administration’s goal of privatizing much of FEMA’s work. In May, Allbaugh
confirms that FEMA will be downsized: “Many are concerned that federal
disaster assistance may have evolved into both an oversized entitlement
program….” he said. “Expectations of when the federal government should be
involved and the degree of involvement may have ballooned beyond what is an
appropriate level.”

2001: FEMA designates a major hurricane hitting New Orleans as one of
three “likeliest, most catastrophic disasters facing this country.”

December 2002: After less than two years at FEMA, Allbaugh announces he
leaving to start up a consulting firm that advises companies seeking to do
business in Iraq. He is succeeded by his deputy, Michael Brown, who, like
Allbaugh, has no previous experience in disaster management.

March 2003: FEMA is downgraded from a cabinet level position and folded
into the Department of Homeland Security. Its mission is refocused on
fighting acts of terrorism.

2003: Under its new organization chart within DHS, FEMA’s preparation
planning functions are reassigned to a new Office of Preparedness and
Response. FEMA will henceforth focus only on response and recovery.

Summer 2004: FEMA denies Louisiana’s pre-disaster mitigation funding
requests. Says Jefferson Parish flood zone manager Tom Rodrigue: “You would
think we would get maximum consideration….This is what the grant program
called for. We were more than qualified for it.”

June 2004: The Army Corps of Engineers budget for levee construction in
New Orleans is slashed. Jefferson Parish emergency management chiefs Walter
Maestri comments: “It appears that the money has been moved in the
budget to handle homeland security and the war in Iraq, and I suppose that’s
the price we pay.”

June 2005: Funding for the New Orleans district of the U.S. Army Corps
Engineers is cut by a record $71.2 million. One of the hardest-hit areas is
the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project, which was created after
the May 1995 flood to improve drainage in Jefferson, Orleans and St. Tammany

August 2005: While New Orleans is undergoing a slow motion catastrophe,
Bush mugs for the cameras, cuts a cake for John McCain, plays the guitar for
Mark Wills, delivers an address about V-J day, and continues with his
vacation. When he finally gets around to acknowledging the scope of the
unfolding disaster, he delivers only a photo op on Air Force One and a flat,
defensive, laundry list speech in the Rose Garden.

A crony with no relevant experience was installed as head of FEMA.
Mitigation budgets for New Orleans were slashed even though it was known to
one of the top three risks in the country. FEMA was deliberately downsized
part of the Bush administration’s conservative agenda to reduce the role of
government. After DHS was created, FEMA’s preparation and planning
were taken away.

Actions have consequences. No one could predict that a hurricane the
of Katrina would hit this year, but the slow federal response when it did
happen was no accident. It was the result of four years of deliberate
Republican policy and budget choices that favor ideology and partisan
at the expense of operational competence. It’s the Bush administration in a

Bushco Self Exams

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

Another self investigation has been announced by the Bush administration. Does anyone get it yet? Does anyone see that the criminals are also the judges and juries in our government? Is every last member of the media willing to continue to support this insanity?

Here is what I want to see…I want to see Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld et. al, find tumors all over their bodies. When they rush themselves to the hospital I want the doctors to tell them that they should perform self examinations and they should correct their own problems. Of course the doctors may want to prescribe medications to be taken on a voluntary basis!!! That would fit perfectly in to the Bush administration philosophy. Think about it

Wanna Bet on Bush’s Response to Katrina?

Tuesday, September 6th, 2005

Are you a gambler? Do you want to place your money on a sure thing? Well if history taught us anything it is how to predict the actions of the Bush administration.

Many people are wondering out loud about who is going to take the blame for the catastrophic failures of our government as they relate to rescue efforts, or lack there of, during and after hurricane Katrina. Will the head of FEMA get the ax? Will the press continue to report the truth until Bush is impeached? Will Cheney end up in jail for continuing to shovel $ billions to Haliburton (they got the first contract awarded to the clean up of Katrina!)

Jesse’s predictions: Here what you should place your money on:
Based on the past 5 years of watching the Bush/PNAC administration in action…based on all the people who were rewarded, promoted, honored and made rich beyond imagination as the result of failed jobs, (such as the failure to protect us from the events of 9/11…yes I know…they are complicit…but we can not educate the ignorant on everything in one blog entry!)…
Here is what you should bet on…
Are you sure you want to know?
OK…here it is…PROMOTIONS! There are going to be a ton of promotions, awards, tributes, metals and other assorted accolades sprinkled over the members of our government who have failed the American people.

That’s it…get ready for the promotions and such.

After all the FBI director who was in charge while planes were slamming into buildings got the Medal of Freedom. Our National Security Adviser who was clueless about issues that even Hollywood producers seemed to know about (flying planes into buildings) was promoted to Secretary of State. The list goes on but you get the point.

So if you want to know if any heads will roll…forget it…put your money on the promotions…you’ll be glad you did!

You heard it here first!

America, Be Not Proud

Tuesday, September 6th, 2005

The new homeless people of America that were made so by the hurricane will soon be placed in some sort of housing. This nation will rise to the occasion and find housing for as many of these people as possible and hopefully for all of them. We are going to do this very quickly, relative to the scale of the problem. And the city of New Orleans will be rebuilt as fast as humanly possible.

The question I have is why didn’t we do this for the homeless people who have littered the streets of this nation for decades? How many homeless war veterans are there in this nation? How many mentally ill people wander the streets of America shoeless and hungry?

We will no doubt see a lot of political congratulations, praise and tributes to the many people who will take part in the effort to normalize the lives of the people displaced by Katrina and many of us will feel a newborn pride in our nation because of this. Don’t be fooled, we have a long way to go before America should be proud. While CEOs of corporations in America earn more that 400 times the salary of their average employee, people in this nation go hungry.

Religious organizations, mostly Christian and Jewish groups, support politicians who’s policies of greed contradict the teachings of these religions. The Catholic Church alone has accumulated enough wealth to solve many of the problems of society, yet what becomes of this wealth? The Catholic Church owns more real estate globally than any other organization on the planet! Yet, there are homeless people all over the world while the Church earns tax free profits from a great deal of their real estate. The Church does not even pay taxes that may help fund public programs to help house the homeless. This is not to say that Churches do not help the homeless, but I am saying there is a lot more to the picture than what we might think.

This disaster should be a wakeup call to Americans. Tax breaks are immoral while people are in need. Earth has not advanced to the point where paying too much tax can be considered unfair. When everything is taken care of, then perhaps we can discuss greed. Till then stop fooling yourself. America is overwrought with greed & insensitivity for which selective self serving compassion can not make up for. We have a lot to be proud of, but we have a lot to be ashamed of as well. Think about it!

Hurricanes: US, China & Japan - Compare & Contrast

Monday, September 5th, 2005

China just evacuated 1 million people in anticipation of a hurricane. Japan is currently preparing for a hurricane. The US media may want to compare and contrast the actions of our government with the actions of the governments of China and Japan. They may also want to compare and contrast the actions of the leaders of these nations as well. Sean Hannity kept trying to put things into perspective about the relief effort, perhaps this little comparison would help to do so. Think about it!

Katrina, Overlooked Points

Sunday, September 4th, 2005

3 points need to be made over and over regarding the response to Hurricane Katrina:

1. As our thumb twiddlers tried stared off into space trying to figure out how to throw food and water out of airplanes, China successfully evacuated a million people in advance of a hurricane.
2. Director of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff told Tim Russert , not once but twice, that he read the paper on Tuesday morning saying that New Orleans dodged a bullet. Russert did not seem to understand the ramifications of his statements. Chertoff, on TV, admitted that he waited to see what already happened before he addressed the situation. In other words there was no actions taken in preparation for the levy breaking. He was not prepared to handle the event until after it happened. This speaks volumes.
3. I have said over and over that terrorism is not even on the list of things that pose a serious threat to Americans (unless “terrorists” continue to get the help and weapons technology from our own government), and that The Bush environmental policy will kill more people than all terrorism in history combined. Maybe now people will start to understand that American cities do not do well under water.

It is time to start listening to the liberals on such issues. It is always a matter of time before people realize that the liberals are correct on such issues. We can not survive many more lessons so that the stubborn greedy right wing can learn these things at the expense of human catastrophe. Think about it! – Jesse, Editor,

Why Some in the Media Suddenly Became Liberal

Saturday, September 3rd, 2005

So a few members of the TV media have become human beings this week. They left their FOX News and CNN studios and became living citizens. Guess what happens when you do this? You become a liberal. Liberals live in reality. They see things up close. They understand humanity because they are part of it. It is their EXPERIENCE that causes them to become liberal. Only those who are protected from the bulk of reality remain conservative.

Conservatives don’t look at the health of this planet, the suffering people all over the world, the victims of American military and economic domination and slavery or the realities of their leaders. They simply bury their heads in their religious books and they learn how to think and what to believe by listening to their earthly idols in the conservative media.

Neo-conservatives are even worse. They are the Republican version of religious fundamentalist such as the Taliban. They are ideologues. They believe in ideology and have no need to open their eyes and examine reality in order to see if their ideas are working or accurate.

Maybe now a few people will wake up to the insanity.

I am not impressed with the recent trickle of humanity we are seeing from the lying bastards in our media. They have a long way to go before they make up for the very horrors in this world that they have helped to create. Think about it!

Katrina Yes, 9/11 No?

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

Do you see how the media are all over the administration for not preparing for the disaster in New Orleans? You see how they are asking questions about how everyone knew that this was going to happen? Do you see how they are talking about all the warnings about the levy breaking and about how the budgets were cut that might have helped address this potential problem? My question is where were the similar questions about 9/11?

Where were the questions about the warnings? Where were the questions about knowing that planes can be used as missiles? Where were the questions about Bush calling off virtually all CIA & FBI investigations into the bin Laden family? Where were the common sense questions and outrage that we are seeing from our media today? Think about it!

Where the Fuck is Dick Cheney?

Thursday, September 1st, 2005

The US is experiencing the worst disaster since the 2000 election and Dick Cheney has yet to say a word. Not a word out of that cold hearted demon! I guess there are no lies to tell to the media so he has nothing to say.

Where is he? Is he still planning his nuclear war on Iran or another round of domestic terrorism? Maybe he is checking to see if he has Fats Domino in his dead pool? Perhaps he is working out a no-bid contract for Halliburton to supply overpriced gas for the relief effort?

Where is he? He is the president of the United States, I mean the Vice President…wink wink…he might want to show his god damn scowling face and say something nice for a change!

Just venting,
Jesse, Editor,

UPDATE: 02-September, 2005 - I WAS RIGHT! Look: Halliburton gets Katrina contract, hires former FEMA director - Allbaugh managed Bush’s campaign for Texas governor in 1994, served as Gov. Bush’s chief of staff and was the national campaign manager for the Bush campaign in 2000. Along with Karen Hughes and Karl Rove, Allbaugh was one of Bush’s closest advisers.

“This is a perfect example of someone cashing in on a cozy political relationship,” said Scott Amey, general counsel at the Project on Government Oversight, a Washington watchdog group. “Allbaugh’s former placement as a senior government official and his new lobbying position with KBR strengthens the company’s already tight ties to the administration, and I hope that contractor accountability is not lost as a result.”
