So Where Are All Those Inventions and Cures?

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

Every year since I can remember there have been news stories about the discovery or invention of revolutionary new ways to cure specific diseases or amazing new vehicles or engines that ran on clean inexpensive fuels, or improved fuel efficiency exponentially. So what has happened to all of these modern marvels? Why can we see a news report about a new way to halt cancer cell growth or about a car engine that runs on water and then we never hear about it again?

Are we to believe that none of these revolutionary inventions work on a large scale? Are we to believe that a car that gets 250 miles per gallon can not be reproduced, by any manufacturer, in any nation in the world?

Who decides what level of technology we are allowed to have or purchase? There is some force in society that does not let these wonderful advances to see the light of day. It is not the inventors or discoverers, it is not the consumer. It is the small corporate cabal that maintains virtual complete control over your life. Until we recognize this and stop this we will never truly be free.   Think about it!

Ban the ‘N’ Word – Then Simply Replace the ‘N’ Word

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Outside of being just about the most blatant anti-democracy anti-freedom action a governing body can take, banning a word is simply useless in helping or protecting anyone. Ban the word “nigger”, ok, just say “migger.” What’s the point? The sentiment behind a word lives on and will come out in verbal form some way or another. To think a problem is solved because someone is not allowed to say a word is just plain stupid!

It is embarrassing that we live in a nation that bleeps the word “god” when used in conjunction with the word “damn.” How sill is it that the censors decided that the word “god” was the offensive part of that little phrase? Is it just me or is that just plain ridicules?  Our overlords have decided that we can watch dramatic re-enactments of or documented reports of real rape, adultery, drug and alcohol usage, cigarettes cigarettes and more cigarettes, serial killers, killing, killing, killing, war, war, war, etc. But we can not hear a person utter ‘oh shit” when they slam a car door on their finger!

Words represent feelings. Words represent human expression. Words represent humanity; good and bad. If you are afraid or words you are afraid of reality. And if a word offends you the problem is greater than the collection of letters that represent the sentiment. Address the real problems behind the words that bother you; leave the poor little words alone because words represent your freedom. Ban words and you are truly no longer free.   Think about it!

Marching and Protesting to Nowhere

Monday, January 29th, 2007

How old were you the last time that protests by American citizens had an impact on anything? Were you even born?

Communicating has never been easier for Americans. Aside from the old reliable postal mail service we have overnight mail, telephones, IP phones, instant messengers, e-mail, fax machines, blogs, graffiti, you name it, we got it! If people have to get on buses in order to tell our representatives to represent us the purpose of the bus trip should be to remove those leaders from office and replace them with people who will actually represent us.

It is time to stop marching and starting taking back our nation for real!Think about it

Yeah, Right, George – You’re Some Decider!

Friday, January 26th, 2007

You’re a decider, George? Come on, get real. You haven’t made a serious decision in your entire life about anything more vital than what brand of beer to guzzle or what grade of cocaine to snort. Strutting around the White House claiming to be ‘the Decider’ is a laugh and a half, George. You said it before and no one cared. You said it again today and it’s just as pathetic. So, just what is it you’ve actually decided?

Face, it George, for six years now, you’ve been unable to make a single decision about anything that made a difference to any of us. From day one, others made the decisions and you just followed along as best you could Karl (Houdini) Rove was the one who decided your public image, the Supreme Court decided your election, hackable Diebold machines decided your second term, the religious right decided your domestic policy and PNAC decided your war plans. So, when did you buy in to that nonsense about being a “Decider,” George?

But, okay, George, - we’ll play along with you. Let’s pretend for the moment that you actually have some historical background, some worldly knowledge, some international experience, or some intellectual curiosity – a few of the things that are really needed to make important decisions in this time of crisis. Let’s look at just a FEW of the less than impressive decisions that were made during your presidency and see if you will really take responsibility for making them:

Think on it, George, if you are truly the DECIDER, then it was YOU who decided:

TO KEEP CHENEY’S ENERGY MEETINGS SECRET FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO THIS DAY

TO THREATEN BOMBING THE TALIBAN - BEFORE 9/11 - UNLESS THEY ENTERED INTO AN OIL PIPELINE DEAL WHICH THEY ULTIMATELY REFUSED

TO HAVE THE PATRIOT ACT READY FOR APPROVAL BY CONGRESS BEFORE 9/11

TO BAR AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE EVENTS OF 9/11 FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR

TO UNDERFUND THE 9/11 COMMISSION AND DENY THEM SUBPOENA POWERS AND STONEWALL THEIR ACCESS TO VITAL DATA

TO LIE OUR NATION INTO AN ILLEGAL AND IMMORAL WAR AGAINST IRAQ

TO REFUSE TO INVESTIGATE THE VALERIE PLAME LEAK WITHIN YOUR OWN WHITE HOUSE

TO SEND OUR TROOPS INTO A WAR WITHOUT ADEQUATE ARMOR AND SUPPLIES

TO GIVE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN NO BID CONTRACTS TO HALLIBURTON AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AND TO HAVE NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE WAY THE MONEY WAS SPENT

TO BAR IMAGES OF FLAG-DRAPED COFFINS OF OUR DEAD SOLDIERS AND REGULAR ANNOUNCEMENTS OF CASUALTY NUMBERS.

TO DENY THAT HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF IRAQI CIVILIANS HAVE BEEN KILLED IN YOUR WAR

TO HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PLAN FOR MAINTAINING PEACE IN A NATION YOU CHOSE TO OCCUPY OR REBUILDING THE DAMAGE YOU INFLICTED

TO HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING OF THE CULTURAL DIVERSITY IN IRAQ AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF INSTALLING A FUNDAMENTALIST CONTROLLED GOVERNMENT IN A FORMERLY SECULAR NATION

TO DENY THAT IRAQ HAS BECOME EMBROILED IN A DEVASTATING CIVIL WAR AND TO CONTINUALLY LIE THAT PROGRESS WAS BEING MADE

TO IGNORE THE ADVICE OF FAR WISER AND MORE EXPERIENCED STATESMEN AND MILITARY LEADERS WHO HAVE WARNED YOU ABOUT YOUR RECKLESS HUBRIS

TO SPY ON AMERICANS WITHOUT SECURING A COURT WARRANT

TO PERMIT TORTURE AT ABU GHRAIB, GUANTANAMO AND OTHER PRISONS, AND TO RENDITION PRISONERS FOR TORTURE IN OTHER COUNTRIES

TO SUSPEND HABEAS CORPUS FOR DETAINEES ARBITRARILY DETERMINED TO BE ENEMY COMBATANTS

TO BE TOTALLY UNPREPARED FOR HURRICANE KATRINA AND TO ABANDON THE VICTIMS OF THAT DISASTER TO THIS DAY

TO SEND THIS NATION INTO A SPIRAL OF DEBT AND DISRESPECT AS NEVER BEFORE IN OUR HISTORY

Had enough, George? I could go on, but this will have to do for now. Read the list slowly and deliberately if you can focus long enough to deal with it. Then, if you have the guts, stand in front of the American people and declare yourself the DECIDER! Tell them that it was YOU, not your handlers or your puppeteers or your advisors or your caretakers who made these decisions. Tell them how proud you are of your decisions, and how much the nation and the world have benefited from your leadership.

Oh yes, George, just one more thing. Give us some idea of the credentials you claim to have that allow you the right to make a single military decision about the war you lied us into. Tell us why YOU, and not the American people, the generals, the Congress, the Baker-Hamilton Group, or anyone else can be ignored while YOU parade around as the sole DECIDER of the fate of the nation and the world.

And then, George, - for kicks - read the US Constitution, and discover that YOU WORK FOR US, the people. You are a public servant, George, not the Emperor or Dictator of this nation, and you are beholden to us all for every move you make.

Until then, Mr. Decider, it’s you and Barney and Laura against the rest of humanity. This “Decider” nonsense really would be a laugh and a half, George, if the consequences were not so terrible. Perhaps it’s time for you to go back to making decisions about beer and coke, - and leaving the really important stuff to those who are equipped to handle it.

There Should Have Been Silence…..

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

Tonight, George W. Bush was cheered and applauded by members of Congress as he approached the dais to present his sixth SOTU address. He was applauded regularly throughout his address to the nation. That response was an unforgivable, yet predictable disgrace. The members of Congress applauded the words of their failed and incompetent leader. They applauded when there should have been total silence.

The almost festive gala broadcast around the world was a farce unlike any that has ever taken place in the halls of the US Congress. Everyone with an ounce of sanity knows that the state of the union is one of total disaster. No one with an iota of concern for the nation or the world should have raised one hand to applaud a single word spoken by George W. Bush. But they did.

Applause and cheering are signs of approval and are accolades for a job well done. The man speaking to the nation, and indeed the world, is a criminal, not a leader. George W. Bush is a puppet of corporate interests and political thugs. He has brought Americans to the closest brush with Fascism they has ever experienced, and he has waged an unending, illegal and immoral war that has shamed us as a nation. There should have been silence, but there was applause.

There should have been silence for the thousands of dead American and coalition troops, and for the maimed and blinded and limbless soldiers who have been sacrificed for nothing more than greed and hubris. There should have been silence for the hundreds of thousands of dead and wounded Iraqis whose nation will never recover from its wounds.
There should have been silence for the victims of Katrina whose plight has been ignored and forgotten in Louisiana and Mississippi, and who know first hand that their President is a professional liar who cares nothing at all for their continued suffering. And, last but not least, there should have been silence for the Constitution of the United States that is now on its deathbed. There should have been total silence, and yet, there was applause.

Whatever George Bush said during his speech was total gibberish. His proposals meant nothing and his goals another series of empty, inane promises for improving the quality of life in a nation he has systematically brought to its knees.

Damn the hypocrites who applauded George Bush despite their disgust. Damn the supporters who still don’t get it, and damn anyone and everyone who showed the rest of the world that there is respect and admiration for the man who has taken us to hell.

There should have been total and absolute silence. Every face should have shown anger and defiance. That response would have upheld the dignity of the Congress and shown respect for the office of the Presidency. But it also would have reflected the TWENTY EIGHT PERCENT APPROVAL RATING that the nation gave this man today.

In my private scenario, I would have placed a photo of a dead soldier or marine to be held aloft by every honorable and enraged member of Congress. But in the real world, U heard applause as the world’s leading terrorist conjured up September 11th once again and as he assumed not a single atom of responsibility for having made us all more unsafe than ever in history.

There should have been silence. There really should have. But there was not.

Mercury in Subway: Bad – Mercury in Our Air Supply & Food: Good

Friday, January 19th, 2007

CNN is terrorizing the public once again with frightening reports about a man who spilled a jar of mercury in a subway station. We keep hearing how this is a dangerous heavy metal and how the man who did this is wanted for questioning by the FBI. Why then, I ask, is George W. Bush not wanted for questioning related to mercury?

Mercury poured onto a subway platform is pretty much harmless unless someone drinks it, touches it (providing they have an open wound) or sucks it into their lungs. Mercury pumped into the atmosphere by the ton poisons our breathing air, our drinking water, our food supply and our eco system. George W. Bush and his administration have done everything in their power to maintain or increase the levels of mercury that is pumping into the atmosphere, poisoning everyone. He and his administration have halted all regulations that were designed to reduce the amount of mercury in our atmosphere.

If CNN is so concerned about someone harming us with mercury why don’t they report on the people responsible for doing the most harm to us with mercury right this minute? Why don’t they report on George W. Bush’s role in the massive mercury poisoning of Americans?

So I ask you why the man who poured a jar of mercury harmlessly on to a subway platform is wanted for questioning while the man who is making sure tons of mercury poisons us all remains immune to all scrutiny. Think about it!

Franken to Seek Senate Seat as I Predicted: Are You Listening to Me Yet?

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

Whenever I step over the line of pre-approved official reality the unsubscribe messages pour into my e-mail box; but here I go again! Many people have asked me about my opinion of Air America Radio and their liberal hosts. Most of the questions relate to Al Franken or Randi Rhodes. I have answered questions about both of these people many times, in e-mail, in person, on stage and on the air…on the record; and my assessment of Franken seems to be playing out just as I described many times.

I described Al Franken as a good man who sold his soul. It is my personal opinion that he was approached by the people who run our government and control our information flow from behind the scenes. From what I see I felt that Franken was told that he can keep his place in public life if he prescribed to pre-approved reality; the same pre-approved reality that we see depicted by the corporate media. I specifically said that I felt Franken would be allowed to hold public office, specifically a Senatorial seat, as long as he did not cross the line and publicly discuss any issues that were not approved by the people who have complete control over our political system.

This assessment is the only one I could come up with to explain why Franken refuses to discuss the mountains of evidence proving that elections in this nation are no longer in the hands of the voters and that Bush, and most of Congress, are in office because the people who predetermine the political landscape for us wanted it that way. The media simply work to build an environment of believability for the eventuality of the decisions of the people behind the scenes. It also explains why Franken pretends to not notice that there is a ton of very valid undisputed evidence that contradicts the official explanation of the events of 9/11. And last but not least it explains why Franken almost exclusively invites members of “think tanks” to be guests on his program.

Well, did you ever look into what think tanks are? Did you ever wonder who pays to create and run think tanks? Think tanks are the most visible and nefarious elephant in the room when it comes to the secretive powers that control our government. Everyone talks about them, but nobody ever explains them. We accept them as part of the political landscape but we never look into what they are, what they do, the power they yield and who is behind them.

Al Franken went from a politically vocal comedy writer to a possible Senatorial candidate; all the while he addressed only the topics and issues that were embraced for public scrutiny by the corporate media and he has worked very hard to discredit those who simply wanted to question tangible evidence that contradicts officially approved reality. And all the while his pre-approved reality was carefully groomed and observed by his regular committee of think tank representatives. Do you think there is a connection here?

I forgot one vital aspect of Franken’s ticket to stardom; he has faithfully prescribed to the “blank check for Israel” policy. There is no criticism of Israel worthy of discussion in Franken’s world and any facts that reflect poorly on Israel indicate nothing but anti-Semitism; no matter how true they may be!

Don’t let Al Franken’s little feud with Bill O’Reilly fool you they are one in the same. FOX, CNN, ABC, Air America (post Mike Malloy), are all the same. They try their best to get you to believe that bias is the main problem with the media when in reality the problem is not bias, it is deception and most of this deception comes in the form of omission of information. It’s not what they say, it is what they don’t say, and Franken don’t say what isn’t approved by the people behind the scenes and that’s a fact! Think about it!

We Don’t Need to Reform the Media; We Need to REPLACE the Media!

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

Here is a quick note for all the good people who are working so hard to enact some kind of media reform” we don’t need media reform, we need media replacement! This nation needs at least one single major media outlet that is not part of the information control mechanism that is clearly in place (those who have seen my presentation know how to easily spot this.) We need a media outlet that has a policy against infiltration by members of politically powerful organizations like the Council on Foreign Relations. And we need a media outlet that does not draw the nation’s attention to stories and issues that affect less than one millionth of the American population, like missing children, murdered spouses or trapped minors. We need a media outlet that reports the same kind of news items that you get every single day when you read my news letter!

So reform away, but you really need to replace! Think about it!

Bush on 60 Minutes; What the Hell Was That About?

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Somebody please tell me the point of the 60 Minutes interview of George W. Bush.  What was the message? What was the information? What were we supposed to learn?

Was this simply a PR piece designed to show us how honest Bush is about his motives and sincerity regarding his decisions related to the debacle in Iraq? Was CBS trying to make us believe that George W. Bush reads books? Did the people at 60 Minutes ask Bush about PNAC’s complete control over foreign policy? Did they ask him about the Downing Street memos? Did they point out that Saddam was one of the few leaders in the region that was considered an enemy of al Qaeda and Islamic radicals and that the people who were brutalized by Saddam are the very people that Bush keeps calling the enemy?

It sure seems that the entire segment was one of those fake news reports called VNRs or Video News Releases. Then again almost every segment on every corporate news program is fake news!

Well, I am waiting for the day that this country explodes in rage against the media. I just hope they televise the hangings…of the members of the U.S. corporate media! Think about it!

Media Reform; Missing the Point

Monday, January 15th, 2007

The media reform movement is missing the point. Most people think the problems with our news media are ownership consolidation and bias. The real problem is far worse and much bigger, it is control of information and the infiltration of the news industry by political and government operatives.

Say what you want but one good look will show you that regardless of the bias of a particular news outlet they are all reporting the same stories, focusing on the same priorities and omitting the same vital information. All the while the incestuous relationship between members of the media and politically powerful and secretive organizations such as the Council on Foreign Relations and AIPAC go unmentioned by most media critics and reformists.

We don’t need to reform our news media industry, we need to create one because what passes for a news media today is simply a controlled information delivery system designed to control the focus and perceptions of the American people. It’s about time we come to terms with this painfully obvious reality and it is time that we stop supporting the media critics and watchdogs who refuse to address the reality of the situation. Think about it!
