Step Right Up, It’s Time for the Cirque du Bush at Annapolis!

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

By Reg, Contributing Editor, TvNewsLIES.org.

Geez, I do hope that at least they have lots of music and cotton candy and crackerjacks. That’s about all they’ll have to offer, if the performance is not to be a total waste of time.. The Bush Cirque at Annapolis is up and running and we’re all invited to watch the show. So now, here they go, performing all the tricks they’ve practiced for years. Hurry and get your tickets to watch the nonsense begin.

It’s the Bushco, last-minute, save-your-legacy photo op: after seven years, a make believe moment meant to assure the world that he gives a damn about peace in the Middle East. It’s an absolute circus, a farcical conference of forty nations that looks real and looks sincere and is so damned foolish as to be laughable. But, then again, it might look good in the Bush Library when this tragic term is over, so go for it. Get the Israelis and the Arab envoys on their individual trapezes and let them swing away. What fun, what nonsense, but then again, what great PR and what super headlines. But, in reality, it’s all a futile exercise in total bullshit.

Here’s the rub: all of the acrobats are swinging through the air, determined never, ever to catch one another in mid flight. The Israelis know they will never give up land or settlements for peace. The Palestinians fly with pipe dreams of the right of return and a land of their own, but refuse to denounce violence. The other Muslim nations pretend they can make autonomous choices, and act as if every movement in their performance is not directed totally by the White House..

The final orchestration will come from Condoleezza Rice. She will try, without success, to force the Arab nations to agree to everything Israel demands, in return for protection from the uninvited villains, Iran and Hamas. There will be carrots and sticks, prodding the performers to do the bidding of their host, and their will be all the illusions and smoke and mirrors that make circuses so much fun. And in the end, everyone will go home, and nothing will change.

When it’s all over, as usual, Israel will blame the intransigence of the Arabs, and the Arabs will blame the arrogance of the Israelis, and everyone will get more weapons from the US to kill one another in greater and greater numbers. After all, never forget that war is profitable, and peace is dull. But let the show begin, so that George Bush can pretend to be a statesman for the history books. In truth, he is far more the buffoon and the fool. But, the show must go on, and the media will report that progress appears to be taking place. That’s their job, and they do it so well.

Watch the coverage. It will look so real and so sincere and so hopeful. But, in fact, the acrobats will all be swinging through the air, and there will be no nets to catch them when they fall. There will only be more bombs, more rocket attacks and more warfare. George Bush has no clue as to what it might take to move even an inch forward in the region. It takes far more than a conference hosted by a warmonger who sees no wrong in illegal invasions and murderous occupations. Far, far, more.

Never mind. Get your bag of popcorn and your can of soda, and take a seat in the peanut gallery. Here come the clowns.

Presidential Treason Old News? Here is More Old News: (Where are the Lynch Mobs for the Media?)

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

When I say that the establishment media are the greatest enemy of the American people, I am not joking! The people in the media, knowingly or not, have conspired to prevent you from knowing or realizing the most important information in the world. They make it possible for the establishment to commit crimes against you, your food, your air, your planet and your country. Yes, I am saying that there is a controlling entity to our nation and to our world. And if you don’t realize that by now you may as well stop reading this and wait for the next episode of Larry King where he will no doubt cover some non-news story that has no effect on you, the world, society, life, the local population and will only effect about 100 people out of the nearly 7 billion people on Earth…and he will pretend as hard as he can that it is news!

The latest “old news” to be passed over by the establishment media is the most recent smoking gun adding to the proof that Dick Cheney and his hand puppet George W. Bush did, as we all know, commit treason by intentionally exposing the identity of a covert CIA operative…because the husband of that agent exposed another treasonous lie of theirs! When I turn on the so called news I can not believe the bullshit that is being passed on as national news while so many vital news stories are ignored! I don’t get it…someone tell me why we should not kill these people? I am not kidding! These people deserve to be killed in the most horrible torturous way imaginable for what they have allowed to take place in this world without doing their job and letting us know!

Here are a few little pieces of old news that our media don’t think you need to know…

1. Not one but both of the so called elections of George W. Bush, our sitting president, were fixed elections. Tons of evidence has been exposed, ballots have been destroyed (against the law), people have been sent to prison and you have not been notified.
2. Virtually free clean energy technology has been available for over a generation. Water powered cars have been driving around for thirty years. And you are let to believe that $100 oil, filthy polluting coal and cancer causing nuclear power plants are our only choices when it comes to powering and heating our homes and cars.
3. Cures, and/or much more effective (and less distressing) treatments are available for everything from staph infections to cancer, and you can’t have them because the cures can not be patented and therefore can not make any corporation rich!
4. Your money belongs to private bankers, not to your nation! That’s right…the interest you have to pay for your government’s debts go to a private bank called the Federal Reserve, which is neither federal or a reserve. They don’t answer to our government and they do not have any governmental over site. This is perhaps the biggest scandal in the American system.
5. Virtually every aspect of the official “explanation” (cover story) of the events of 9/11/2001 have been proven to be false. Multiple cover ups have been exposed. Multiple inconsistencies and impossibilities have been exposed and vital elements, like motive (PNAC’s new Pearl Harbor) and opportunity (the war games and hijacking drills taking place that day) have been hidden from the public.
6. Virtually everything Michal Moore exposed in Fahrenheit 9/11 has been proven true yet the only coverage by the media came when the critics and conspirators had something to say!

This list can go on forever. We are being lied to every day about almost everything. The garbage that is passed on as news has become so obvious that the on-air news reporting criminals in our nation must be taking drugs in order to keep from laughing as they struggle to look like actual journalists while they cover stories like local crimes of passion, personal celebrity tragedies and movie news (and box office reports) while presidential treason is ignored!

Journalism, freedom of the press, is the only vocation protected by the US Constitution. There is a reason for that. Actually there are many reasons for that all of which can be summed up by saying that the journalists are supposed to protect the citizens from the people in power. They are doing to opposite! These people are holding blindfolds over your eyes as they allow you and your children to be raped in every way imaginable. Why do we permit this? How loud do I have to scream before the masses understand this? Where are the lynch mobs? Where are the damn lynch mobs? Think about it! Jesse Richard – Editor, TvNewsLIES.org

Barry Bonds vs. Howard Krongard: And the Winner Is…

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Reg, Contributing Editor, TvNewsLIES.org.

…and the winner is Howard, J, Krongard, - a name barely known to most Americans, and someone who remains barely known, thanks to the corporate US media. Here’s the competition:

A top story this week in the news: Barry Bonds was indicted on charges of four counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of justice. Bonds stands accused of lying under oath to a grand jury about his use of steroids. If he is found guilty on all counts, Bonds faces up to fifteen years in prison.

Barry Bonds is obviously a menace to us all. He apparently poses a great threat to all our lives and to the safety of the nation. Let us all hope that justice is done and the full force of the law is brought down on this dangerous criminal.

Non story this week in the news: Howard J. Krongard, US State Department Inspector General lied under oath to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform It seems that federal prosecutors have been looking into allegations of waste, fraud, and abuse in Iraq by Blackwater, USA. And, surprise, surprise, Krongard was on the carpet for interfering with the investigation.

And guess what else? Someone found out that Howard’s brother, Alvin (Buzzy) Krongard, sits on the Advisory Board of Blackwater. When asked about this, Howard told the House Committee that Buzzy had NO connection to Blackwater. He knew NOTHING, not a thing about this, even after a call to his brother. But, but, but after a recess, Krongard knew the jig was up. He admitted that it was true, Buzzy was a member of the Board, but had never, ever told him about it.

Small problem: Brother Buzzy called the Committee and told them that he had, indeed, told brother Howard of his connection to Blackwater. Uh oh. That’s perjury. Howard Krongard LIED UNDER OATH about a matter relevant to an ongoing investigation. Perjury is a crime. Wanna bet nothing happens to the man?

Howard Krongard is obviously not a menace to anyone. He apparently poses no threat to our lives or to the safety of the nation. Let’s all hope that Chairman Henry Waxman doesn’t look too closely into “allegations of perjury” after Thanksgiving, as he has promised to do. And let us all hope that Krongard, like Scooter Libby, Karl Rove and other Bushco criminals continue to escape prosecution and punishment of any sort.

Barry Bonds is allegedly a criminal; Howard Krongard is a servant of the people.

After all, there is something to be said about consistency and cronyism in a ‘time of war.’ And, oh yes, never forget that everything changed after 9/11.

The Farce of Veteran’s Day; A Holiday For Everyone Except Veterans

Monday, November 12th, 2007

How’s your day going? Are you off from work or school? Do you get to spend a three day weekend enjoying yourself? Perhaps you are traveling or you took the kids to Disney? Well, on this Veterans Day, 25% of the homeless in American are veterans who don’t give a damn about having a holiday of their own, they just want the country that they served to simply treat them like human beings.

You know, it is very hard to be proud of being American these days unless you have an extraordinary ability to live in a pretend world. Or unless you really believe that you live in the pretend world that is depicted on our TVs, news networks included. Today, America claims to celebrate those who have served our nation by applauding them at baseball games and by watching draft dodgers and AWOL brats who conducted an electoral coup of our nation (Bush & Cheney), give speeches in their honor. What a tragic place America has become.

America is a land where a baseball player can earn $1/4 billion yet we have people - human beings, families, children and veterans alike living on the streets with no home, no food and no hope. Tell me again about how great our nation is. This is not my America.

We live in a nation where for some reason the soldier is the supposed be our greatest hero. The soldier, we are told, is protecting us from our enemies and we are told to “support” him or her. Well I have news for you, today’s soldiers do not protect us from our enemies and we do not support them. The enemies of Americans and American soldiers today are the very people who send our soldiers to unnecessary wars while they stay home and work hard to destroy our nation from within. While they aim our soldiers are foreign enemies, real or promulgated, they destroy our Constitution, our freedom, our protections, our ability to provide for ourselves and all the while they do to nothing to support our soldiers. “Supporting the troops” has become nothing more than code speak for funding the war profiteers and the patriots who point this out are demonized.

Well, demonize away because I am saying what needs to be said. This nation does not need a holiday, it needs a revolution. It needs representative leadership. It needs to live up to its own rhetoric. It needs a military that protects the people from enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC. It needs leaders that do more to actually support our troops than give a once per year speech to canned pre-screened audiences of troops who do nothing to protect our freedoms while they participate in presentations where the freedom of speech they supposedly are fighting to protect is suspended and restricted to little “free speech zones.” How they hell is that protecting me or you?

Anyway, for me, until the phrase “homeless veteran” no longer accurately describes any American I won’t be celebrating the great American farce that we call Veteran’s Day. Think about it!

Could Musharraf’s Actions Be a Dry Run for Bushco?

Monday, November 5th, 2007

A question posed by Reggie, Contributing Editor, TvNewsLIES.org

Does any thinking person really believe that the President of Pakistan is able to make ANY political or military decision without the approval, if not the actual direction of the US Government?

The answer is so damned obvious as to be childish: NO, HE CANNOT… because US dollars protect Pervez Musharraf and keep him in power. The 700 MILLION dollars in economic and military assistance the US gave to Musharraf this year alone are most definitely not an altruistic gift that comes without strings. The 800 million dollars scheduled to reach the Pakistani government in 2008 will guarantee that Musharraf continues to do exactly what the Bush administration wants. It is not an exaggeration to suggest that President/General Musharraf would not last a day in office without US aid and protection. Not a single day.

In fact, the financial ties between the US and Pakistan create a cooperative, albeit symbiotic relationship between the two nations. In the two years after 2001, US aid to Pakistan increased by a whopping $ 224 million! Aid of this sort is guaranteed so long as the leadership plays ball with the US and supports its foreign policy to the letter. That is standard foreign policy operation, and is no different for all the countries that formed the coalition of the ˜willing” in Bush’s war against Iraq.

But not all goes as planned, as Bushco never seems to understand. The recent conflict over Musharraf’s retention of both a military uniform and a political role has stirred up opposition that this administration was not about to tolerate. Musharraf is an absolutely essential figure in the control that the US exerts of Pakistan. His power, however titled, must be maintained, but a victory in the January, 2008 elections could not be guaranteed because of rising opposition from a whole spectrum of political and ideological groups within the country.

So, the US arranged for the return to Pakistan of former Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto. She would run for office via an agreement with Musharraf and continue her sycophantic support of the Bush administration. Bhutto’s self exile following charges of major corruption notwithstanding, the US was going to ensure the elections of its purchased puppets in the January elections. Bush strategically had seen to it that Bhutto received full amnesty and that all criminal charges against her would be dropped.

As it turned out, Bhutto was welcomed by a violent attack by those who opposed her return that killed scores of her supporters. At the same time, Islamic militants were out to depose Musharraf, and supporters of democracy within Pakistan were making loud noises of opposition as well. Among these were defenders of Supreme Court Justice Iftikar Chaudhary who was fired and placed under house arrest after resisting attempts to curb the independence of the Pakistani judiciary.

So, as things got really out of hand, our dictator-ally in charge of a nuclear bomb found himself in some real political turmoil. In response, Musharraf suspended the Pakistani constitution and as well as all civil rights throughout his country, and established martial law in a desperate attempt to hold on to power.

According to the AP
, Musharraf’ restrictions covered:

· Protection of life and liberty.

· The right to free movement.

· The right of detainees to be informed of their offense and given access to lawyers.

· Protection of property rights.

· The right to assemble in public.

·  The right to free speech.

· Equal rights for all citizens before law and equal legal protection.

· Media coverage of suicide bombings and militant activity is curtailed by new rules. Broadcasters also face a three-year jail term if they “ridicule” members of the government or armed forces.

To top it off, Musharraf announced plans to postpone new elections for a full year!

DOESN’T THIS ALL SOUND TOO DAMN FAMILIAR????????

Since 9/11, so many of these same rights have been eroded right here in the United States! We have lost our precious right of habeas corpus and the protection of the Fourth Amendment. Our government has regularly breached Constitutional and International Law with impunity. Both through the passage of actual laws such as the Military Commissions Act of 2006, and by the abuse of Presidential Directives and Signing Statements, the US Constitution has been gradually and successfully eviscerated by this administration.

Not only have the rights of Americans been violated and restricted, but plans have been put in place for future suspension of what remains of checks and balances among the branches of our government, and for the declaration of martial law in this country, exactly as it now has been installed in Pakistan.

Which brings me to the logical question posed by this article:

Could the events in Pakistan be a testing ground for what Bushco might be planning in the US to avoid the consequences of fair and democratic elections here in 2008?

Understand that none of Musharraf’s actions could have been implemented without the approval of the Bush administration. Understand as well that Condy Rice has announced that these actions will not mean the discontinuation of aid to the government of Pakistan.

She told reporters, “ We have to be very cognizant of the fact that some of the assistance that has been going to Pakistan is directly related to the counter-terrorism mission…” In other words, anything and everything is acceptable in the name of fighting terror!

Remember that.

And then consider the possibility that a successful return to total dictatorship in Pakistan would bode well for those who are loathe to relinquish the power they have worked so hard to acquire in this criminal administration. The only differences between the actions of the two governments are the relative transparency and speed of their destruction of democracy. Musharraf openly took over in a day. Bushco has secretly eaten away at our freedoms for nearly seven years.

But then again, there is one more major difference. Pakistani lawyers and other protesters, much like the brave Buddhist priests of Myanmar, have taken to the streets. Thousands are being beaten, gassed and arrested as I write, but they will not sit quietly and allow their government to destroy the democracy they crave without a fight. That just doesn’t happen here in very large numbers, and when it does, the media ignore those who turn out and in the end, no one really cares and absolutely nothing changes.

Maybe, just maybe, this is a dry run to see what happens when democracy is sacrificed in the name of national security. Maybe, just maybe the international response to the events in Pakistan will be a test of such reaction should it happen here.

And maybe, if it happens, Americans will quietly pass across the subtle divide into full dictatorship without a murmur. And maybe not. Maybe, just maybe, they, too will stand up and be counted.

Judging from the past few years, it’s hard to tell. We’ll just have to wait and see.
