Democracy Now? My Comments to Amy Goodman about 9/11.

Democracy Now? My Comments to Amy Goodman about 9/11.
I attended a Code Pink anti-war event in NYC on Sunday. I was meeting Dylan Avery, his Loose Change team and a gentlemen (Kevin) who along with his friend Marc are working on a 9/11 awareness campaign. Marc thought that the Code Pink venue would be a good place to test the water or perhaps hobnob with activists for the purpose of expanding public awareness about the real 9/11 evidence; you know the evidence that, oh, let’s say differs from the official story, to say the least.

Cindy Sheehan was one of the speakers. The entire event, however well meaning, was another useless waste of collective time, money and energy. It was another example of good people with good intentions, an inability to see the real problem and a weak agenda. Their entire effort, if successful, will result in a huge stack of paper with a lot of signatures on it that will be ignored by every target of influence for whom they are intended. It’s like firing a gun without the bullets. What’s the point?

The last speaker was Democracy Now’s Amy Goodman. She spoke eloquently about the importance of an independent media. She continually commented about being part of the reality based media. Ms. Goodman received thunderous applause from the crowd of people who think that Democracy Now is indeed part of the reality based community. I almost got up and yelled at her to set the record straight but I held my comments until I was able to meet her, again, face to face. As soon as the last speaker finished I headed for Ms. Goodman and I let her know how I felt about her concept of reality. I told her that I was a sentinel for the reality based community and I asked her to use her powerful platform to address the real issue as it relates to the political landscape of this nation which was the huge disconnect between the existing evidence and the official story of 9/11! She commented on how Democracy Now does address the 9/11 issue. I told her that all this Iraq stuff, and most of the stuff that she covers is fluff and means nothing if the 9/11 issue is not addressed the way it should be. I told her that they are addressing all of this as a political issue when in fact it is the issue is criminality, not politics. I let her know that I was not fooled by her claims of being part of the reality based world and I hope you are not fooled either.

A side note about Ms. Goodman: Some time back I met Ms. Goodman at a fund raiser for the well known independent journalist Greg Palast. I prepared packages for both Amy & Greg. I gave them samples of my writing, contact information and a cover letter offering them my cooperation for free. In other words I offered to work for them for free! I also gave them each a Loaded Deck; my informational playing cards created as a retort to the Bush administrations childish and embarrassing Iraqi deck of cards. (The Loaded Deck was the first of its kind with a copyright date only 2 days after the Iraqi cards were announced!). I offered to let Greg use my cards to raise money for his legal fees. The result of my gesture was interesting. I received no calls. My calls to follow up calls (to both Democracy now and Mr. Palast) were ignored and Greg Palast came out with his own deck of cards that were basically a rip off of mine down to the George W. Bush joker card. I called Palast, the artist who created the art for the cards and his office, to discuss the issue of the cards. No call back. No thank you for the idea. Nothing. Just plagiarism from an independent journalist.

It is one thing to be lied to and abused by the criminals who hijacked our democracy but to me it is worse when the people who are trusted good guys savor the spotlight more than they do their claimed mission. Think about it!

I agree with you Jesse. I faxed her information about how the 911 commission was compromised. She did call me back. She was worried more about how I found out her private fax number!! Never did tell her. But she said she would get her researchers to look at the information. Never has she talked about how the 911 commission was compromised to my knowledge. She won’t touch 911 in any degree, she should be added to the list and charged with helping to cover up the crimes of 911. She knows about the crimes of 911, she is no dummy just a fake!

The antiwar movement could open up the cans of worms but they don’t because the leaders are compromised.
this is a great article that shows the gatekeepers..

This is just proof positive that Amy is complicit in 9/11 I’m disappointed because I loved her book exception to the rulers and do find her program of value…

I think I hate the liberals covering up 9/11 more than the Rebubs… 2 dirty sides of the same coin.

I listen daily to her show, but have always found that she won’t approach the real issue of 911. It is an informative yet limited radio program. One wonders if their existence is related to the news they broadcast- Stick to the facts and don’t venture into the realm of supposed conspiracy theories. This is how they keep their license and are compromised. It is unfortunate that the real conspiracy theory is the one that can’t be broacast. I enjoy what she says and who she interviews and the issues she brings up, like their Katrina coverage, Rosa Parks, Coretta King, AlJazeera, -’But’-, her avoidance of the criminal acts of the Bush administration and the HORROR of the murders by the administration during the 911 incident, including the subsequent 911(c)Ommission report are gaping holes in her credibility. What are they afraid of? That the truth would shatter the credibility of America, its politics and their news reporting? Isn’t the truth worth that? If they don’t come out with the truth soon, the truth will destroy America anyway. Next time you meet her, tell her that is is almost too late for America, its politicians and its journalists to regain their credibility as purveyors of decency, honest policy and reporting, unless the media begins by apologising for covering up what our government is really up to and starts to tell the truth about 911 and the policies of PNAC. Then it will be up to America to start paying back the world for all the harm it has caused. There will be a price to pay for this dishonesty- The time to start repaying, for DEMOCRACIES sake, it is NOW.

I often watch Democracy Now! for its slant on how the grant-money takers view current events. Ms. Goodman and her program have been recipients of major grant money for a number of years, and it is this that “limits” her world view. As a radical, I can see how this arrangement has cornered her, since I am sure that personally she would not support the Democratic Party or its apologists, but these are the kind of people she has to invite to speak every so often to keep up the front. The events of 911 are off the table for liberals (and their grant machines) and are enough of a minefield (rife with disinformation sources that she will not examine) that Ms. Goodman WILL NOT TOUCH it in this current crisis or any other.

The “acceptable left” in general has been the worst enemy of discussion and debate over anything meant to build beyond the two-party system. Anit-war groups as a whole have their agendas set before any meetings occur- the public is just tolerated to give mass appearance to THEIR movement, which of course must not alienate the broad public (!?). 911 is THE wedge that can break up not only the Republican movement, but also the unholy alliance between left-liberals and the right-wing corporatocracy that holds such truths out of the limelight. To be heard, we must be street-smart and crazy at the same time- the threat of us bolting the whole put-up job of politics in this country scares the Hell out of them. So let’s get to work.

The main problem we are facing is that of survival. Those who have the power will do whatever it takes to keep that power and whatever it takes to maintain that position is what they will do. Politicians have one goal – to get re-elected. The “talking heads” and journalists have a goal – to keep their job. Those who have attempted to speak out have not reached their goal (i.e., Paul Wellstone, Tom Daschle, Max Clelland, Phil Donahue, Dan Rather, to name but a few.) So, it is up to people such as us to wake the rest of us up, those who fail to see what is going on. These people are called “Not Sees” in the book “Not See America – The Key to Reviving our Democracy.” These not sees sat idle when the Supreme Court told the people they did not have the right to be heard, they did not have the right to have their vote counted. The corporate media passed that off as those liberals are poor losers when in reality all Americans saw their democracy being taken. 9/11 “happened” and within hours we were given the “official” story as to what happened. It made no difference that no where in that official story has there ever been any proof to back it up. It is the first, and last, time in history steel structure buildings collapsed due to fire. It is the first, and last, time in history a crashed plane was not identified and in this case there were four planes that were never identified. It is the first time, other than in Bruce Willis films, that planes exploded upon impact, not burned but exploded! There is much more that has been ignored by the corporate media propagandists and ignored by the Not Sees. The politicians, we have only one type as republicans and liberals both have teamed up in their quest to stay in office, simply rubber stamp what they are given. Granted, Democrats are in the minority, but is they gave a crap they would at least be talking and informing their constituents. They, except for very few, must be replaced. We, the people, cannot rely on the corporate media propagandists, nor the politicians to keep us informed. We, the people, must take control of our country by getting Not Sees to wake up. Then cleansing our political process from the corruption and secrecy. We must break up the “insider” cliché in Washington DC. We can start by not voting for any politician who has not risen to request an inquiry into the impeachment of this administration. By not requesting one they are certainly not doing their job of protecting our Constitution.

In all fairness , Democracy NOW! DID have David Ray Griffin on one show , but I don’t have an airdate . It was after his first book came out , “The New Pearl Harbor”, and I also forgot who the “other side” was that she had on the show. I remember being so excited becauses I thought that finally , many of the 9/11 questions would be aired . Man,my house could have been on fire , and the firemen would have to drag me out . Then the segment came on .. .
It sucked! Goodman kept asking Griffin for “evidence” as if he had video of Bush,Cheney,Rumsfeld, and Rice with models of the WTC and the Pentagon, flying model airplanes into them ,or maybe a detonator with a serial number on it ,or better yet-special surprise guest Mohammed Atta! .Her delivery almost seemed flatter than ever-perhaps she was being told not too encourage Griffin, but make it look like a normal show.I felt like I was watching CNN or MSNBC or something. It was terrible. That’s when I knew for sure that “They” had even got to Democracy NOW! Goodman must have took a call before the show: “Hype Griffin and you’re off the air” .

  7. Passenger57 says:

“Becauses”? Whoops! I’m sure it’s an actual word somewhere in the universe….!

  8. halleberries says:

Mike Malloy interviewed Mr. Griffin on Air America, it was better than the Democracy Now! Interview, but I still didn’t like the skittish way the guy handled the interview…

  9. Jesse says:

Malloy interviewed Griffin ( I called in, they both know me…shameful boasting), well after he wrote his book exposing the distortions and omissions of the official report. Goodman had him on after the New Pearl Harbor book came out. Big difference.

Malloy is a truth teller. Goodman…I have not figured her out but if you look who funds the program you might change your mind about her.

  10. Protean says:

I am really enjoying reading your comments. You people are well informed about 911 and your views on Amy Goodman I think are spot on. I have emailed her and Laura Flanders (Radio Nation/Air America) several times trying to get them to read alternative 911 information, but they always seem to cast a derisive conspiracy pallor to anything that diverges from the “Official 911 Story” on their shows.

As to Mike Malloy; I feel Mike is a bird of a different color. Though I do not “know” him, I did interview him for a short documentary I made: Mike Malloy – Angry Voice In The Wilderness ( http://www.proteanmedia.com/vid/mm_avitw.aspx ). I thought Mike’s interview with Mr. Griffin was well done. I think any “skittish way” the interview was undertaken, or may have been perceived, would not be because Mike is reluctant to trend in this area, but moreover that Mike is a very smart guy and he is careful when conducting such interviews to try to keep himself in the middle and objective. Even though he may be fully on-board with the person being interviewed, Mike is a professional and realizes it is not his job to cheer them on, but to ask questions that let them tell their views and story. If you listen to Mike on a regular basis you will pick-up as much news and information as Democracy Now—but without the censorship.
What I find amazing is that Air America allows him to speak out like he does—it gives me hope that there still is some brave independent media out there.
