Ask the God Damn Question!

George W. Bush, during his press conference with Tony Blair, 6/7/05 said Saddam would not comply. (Comply to what? We are never told! But apparently whatever he did not comply to was important enough to start a war over but not important enough to ever explain to the world!)

After a single question about the Downing Street Memo (with no follow up) was asked, (in between the questions about Africa - the American media suddenly discovered Africa), Bush & Blair once again repeated their rhetoric about how they went to war with Iraq only after Saddam Hussein refused to comply. COMPLY WITH WHAT?

Why, after 2 years, hasn’t a single reporter asked the most obvious question of the entire crime that is the invasion of Iraq…WHAT DID SADDAM REFUSE? Are they referring to the US imposed Catch 22 demand that he disarm Iraq of the WMD’s that IRAQ DID NOT HAVE?

WHAT THE HELL DID WE GO TO WAR FOR? Saddam permitted intrusive inspections with NO TIME LIMIT! WHAT DID HE REFUSE? We are told time and time again that the choice was Saddam’s and we invaded because he refused to comply, and to this date we have never been told what this means. Even more outrageous is that there is not a single member of the American corporate news media that even asked this question!!!

Is every reporter who has had access to Bush and Blair so stupid as not to realize that this question has not only never been answered, IT HAS NEVER BEEN ASKED! Can you have any better indication that the media are complicit in the illegal war crime that is the invasion of Iraq?

Somebody, please explain this to me?

Tony Blair: And the fact is we decided to go to the United Nations and went through that process, which resulted in the November 2002 United Nations resolution, to give a final chance to Saddam Hussein to comply with international law. He didn’t do so. And that was the reason why we had to take military action.
JESSE’S COMMENT: Comply with what?

George W. Bush: And so we worked hard to see if we could figure out how to do this peacefully, take a — put a united front up to Saddam Hussein, and say, the world speaks, and he ignored the world. Remember, 1441 passed the Security Council unanimously. He made the decision.
JESSE’S COMMENT: What decision? What does this mean? Why won’t anyone ask him?

George W. Bush: We worked with the United Nations — as Kofi mentioned, not all nations agreed with the decision, but we worked with the United Nations. And Saddam Hussein did not comply. And it’s the same intelligence, by the way, that my predecessor used to make the decision he made in 1998. - We are in the process now of interrogating people inside of Iraq, looking at documents, exploring documents to determine the extent that — what we can find as quickly as possible. And I believe, firmly believe, that when it’s all said and done, the people of the United States and the world will realize that Saddam Hussein had a weapons program.
JESSE’S COMMENT: What does this mean? How can he ramble incoherently like this and nobody asks him what the hell he means? How does the world let him get away with this nonsense explanation for starting a war! HE STARTED A WAR!!! ARE WE ALL CRAZY? How do you let someone who STARTED a WAR ramble incoherently about the reasons? Where is Congress? Where is the media? Where is the International Criminal Court? Where are the riots? What did Saddam NOT COMPLY to? Ask the God damn question!

The summaries by the news networks made no mention at all of the memo or the absence of question regarding the agreement between the two me. Neither did they comment on the lack of questions regarding Bush’s limited aid to African countries that allow abortions.

Mike Malloy called Tim Russer the EZ Pass interviewer. Seems to me they’re all taking the same road. No tough questions. Accept everything Bush says and just nod in agreement The entire interview was a farce, as is everthing involving the war so far as Bush and Blair are concerned.

    It only gets worse….

I seem to remember that before they forced the UN inspectors to leave Iraq, by making it too unsafe for them to stay, that the original Catch 22 ultimatum was to allow the inspectors free access to all sites and that they must comply with these demands to reveal whether Saddam had any WMD’s. Whether he said yes or no, didn’t Bush say that America was coming anyway. In other words, DAMNED if you do, DAMNED if you don’t. That was in 2002. Before the war.
