Congress is NOT Supposed to “Trust” the President!

Why do they still “trust the president?” John McCain today said that he trusts the president to do the right thing in regards to Karl Rove? Why? When do we stop trusting the good intentions of George W. Bush? How many issues have to come up where it clear that we have not been told the truth, before members of Congress realize that their job is to hold the president accountable, it is not their job to trust the president!

Let me reiterate: When a member of Congress gives the president the benefit of the doubt on an issue of accountability and does not take an active role in verifying the facts, or investigating the president, then he or she is shirking their responsibility! Congress has been shirking their responsibility for 5 years! Think about it!
