A trio of environmental organizations filed suit Wednesday to block uranium-mining exploration near the edge of Grand Canyon National Park, claiming the U.S. Forest Service violated federal law when permits were issued.

The complaint by the Sierra Club, Grand Canyon Trust and Center for Biological Diversity challenges permits for seven drilling sites issued by the U.S. Forest Service. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court, says Tusayan District Ranger Richard Stahn approved the exploration without requiring an environmental-impact statement.

I don't think we can ever clean up after this horrible administration. They have destroyed everything they touch--and they touch everything!
How could we ever recover from this???

Under the Bush administration, the U.S. Forest Service only serves to violate U.S. Forests.

I'm sure they feel there is no problem, because the Grand Canyon and a uranium mine are both just holes in the ground.

That 'after' looks like one of the coal companies new ways of 'mining'. They blow the tops off mountains and dump everything in the valleys. Poisons everything!

And we wonder why Mother Earth is mad at us?
