I can relate. I've got too much stuff, and I'd bet every TVNL member can also relate. Things seem to accumulate, and one of my problems is other family members. A few of them, including my husband's brother, seem to think we're supposed to accept some of his "stuff" on a temporary basis, which of course becomes permanent.

I've given my husband an ultimatum over the last few days as I've been doing some late spring cleaning...his brother either accepts responsibility for his own stuff or it's going to be donated to my favorite charity...the local humane society's thrift store.

One way or another, people will come to realize just how much damage we are doing and that what we are doing is ultimatly unsustainable.

This video is not only in the process of converting millions of young Americans to the environmental cause, but also requires them to take a critical look at the effects of overconsumption. Sooner or later, our system based on waste is destined to collapse. Given the poverty of the area devoted to the environment in school books, many American teachers are pleased to use this film for educational purposes. There is hope…

Field trips to local landfills would be good for the youth of this country, although it's not just the young who consume. It's EVERYBODY. I remember watching a video years ago about the effects of the "throw-away society" on the planet. It was narrated by Colleen Dewhurst. A point she made was "There is no such thing as "away." What you "throw away" goes onto the earth or into the earth."
