Holy Batten Down The Hatches, Batman!

Went to sleep last night and she was a cat 3... woke up this morning to find that she had reorganized into a cat four with max sustained winds of 145 mph... :bolt:

The good news is she is now projected to more than likely hit Northern Mexico rather than Southern Texas... but that doesn't mean you can let your guard down cause as we'all saw with Dennis... flooding happens inland...

And here's a close up loop...

Hurricane Emily Water Vapor Loop

Check out the northern portion of that storm... It looks like it could make it through the gap between the Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba and into the Gulf of Mexico unimpeded... what then?

No clue but it bears watching... Don't ya think?

In the ground, definately. Ground water has become horrible in the last 10 to 15 years.

On the roof, just as definately NO. Can't fix the roof myself, can't hire anyone to do it, don't know anyone who will.

I am in a slow race to see which is going to exit this life first, the roof or me.

I saw this product talked about on another forum, researched it and thought it worthy of sharing... looks like a good product in hurricane preparation... it's called Plylox...

Here's the info:

Looks like she is off the Yucatan and running... that that went through the gap in front of her as she went over the Yucatan proceeds north ahead of her... she seems to have lost a lot of steam but the spiral is still quite evident... and she seems to be headed for Texas...

Cat one... winds at 75 mph but is expected to gain strength before landfall...

don't they usually pick up power over water?

and, could the other disturbance on the west side of mexico have some impact on the direction of travel?

Currently a cat 2 (winds = 100mph) with a possibility of attaining major hurricane status before landfall... This loop shows it heading for northern mexico... but that's just the eye... the worst part of the storm, the northwest quadrant, will land in Texas... I sure hope they're ready for her... and her winds and her rain and her tornadoes...

there's always weather somewhere sometime... kind of proves that old adage... what goes around comes around...

Even though she has been over land for hours, Emily is still a Cat 1 hurricane with winds of 80 mph... she has also spawned tornadoes in Texas and dumped buckets of rain... she is still very dangerous... and she will continue to pull moisture from the Gulf over south Texas... Do NOT let your guard down...
