When did being environmentally responsible become equated with terrorism?
by Lani | Oct 7 2006

From Lani's Blog

WTF is with US TV Network shows like Law & Order, and others lately?

Even if later in the show it's decided it was NOT the greens or tree huggers or environmentalists that blew up the building or did some other nasty violent thing, at least initially the environmentalists are presented as 'eco-terrorists' - when in fact the real eco-terrorists are the politicians and industries whose policies and actions are destroying the environment that we all need to live.

It's a sick, sick, sick society that equates care for the environment and living as environmentally responsible as possible with terrorism and violence. Yes there are some who resort to violence but they are a tiny minority - many if not most 'tree huggers' are also pacifists who see violence against other human beings, against animals and the planet itself as being anti-life.

I'm sofa king fed up with terms and words like 'tree hugger' and 'environmentalist' and 'greens' being used with disgusted looks on the faces of those speaking the words and their tone of voice making those words sound as derogatory as possible when referring to people who care for this planet and ALL who live hereon.

Those same facial expressions and tones of voice used to be used openly by racists and bigots using the 'n' word.

I agree wholeheartedly with Lani. I have been just as disgusted with those actions, and have wondered why people accept them.

Don't people understand that as the environment weakens, so does the ability for humans to exist?

We are the modern dinosaurs, except they had nothing to do with their own extinction.
