Just when you thought the hurricane season was over...
well some do, granted they're either braindead republicans or their libertarian toady butt buddies, but there are morons out there that think it's already over...

No... it's not... still have lots more time to feel the waves crash on shore, cuz we now have Tropical Depression 5 and if it should strengthen into a tropical storm or hurricane, it is headed towards the Gulf...

How about your hurricane kits?

Have you restocked them yet? Do it now and avoid the rush...

ok... TD#5 has become Tropical Storm Ernesto and is predicted to strengthen before reaching Jamaica later this weekend... from there, they say it could strengthen even more and become our first hurricane of the season... it also could make it into the Gulf of Mexico aka the Hot Tub...

 don't let your guard down... this bears watching...

Thanks, Stripey...when they come into the Gulf and turn northwards, my part of the world often gets hit, although not as badly as points south. Opal knocked out power, tore down trees, and closed my school for two days.

He attained hurricane status and then lost it... now he's aiming to ruin the Labor Day Weekend for millions of easterners...

oh well... it could have been worse...

still... did you catch the run on supplies in South Florida? That's why I keep telling you to restock your kit BEFORE the rush...

Have you?

Mine is stocked. Thanks, Stripey, for helping us stay alert! I'm sure glad Ernesto decided to turn back into a better-behaved boy than he first seemed to be.

Maybe he didn't want to give the Bush-neocons any more opportunity for rhetorical distraction. :P

well... he's back to a tropical storm, but returning to his hurricane status is doubtful...

no... he'll "just be a rain maker"... or "flood maker" as the case will no doubt be...

Got Ark?

Funny thing... and I mentioned this to Mrs. Stripey this AM...

Here we have TS Ernesto plying the coasts of the eastern US and Hurricane John, plying the coasts of Western Mexico...

Shouldn't Ernesto be Ernest and John be Juan?

A Rumor of Storms

This afternoon on the radio they were calling for "up to 10 inches of rain [in 48 hours]" in Baltimore, and the announcer said it like it was nothing!

He probably doesn't actually live IN Baltimore, GR but one of it's tony suburbs...

It's likely to be one of the biggest frog choking gully washers of late...

Ten inches in 48 hours???

Got Ark?

Got yer emergency kit stocked yet? Do it now and avoid the rush... and be sure to get some cash out of your bank too cuz when the power goes down, so do the ATMs and obtw, fill the car/truck with gas, too... for the same reason...

uh oh... ernie's at 70 mph... 5 mph more and he's back to being a hurricane... but still, there's not much difference between a weak Cat 1 and a powerful Tropical Storm, so it's still purrdicted to be a flood maker...

Have you found that new best seller "How To Build An Ark For Dummies" yet?
