Does my body hair count?

Don't have any fur, if I could afford it I probably would it really is warmer than most artificial material clothes. Though you can't find many pieces of fur clothing in the States that were made for warmth and not the status factor.

As is I get by certain fleeces are almost as warm as fur, and unlike fur they're also waterproof and stay warm.

My nephew, the one that tries to keep me in computers, lives in Seattle and I see they had a dreadful storm there. I guess that is the cold that is coming over the rest of the states in the next couple of days.

I have been hoping we would get some cold weather. The past few years have been pretty open and we need the cold to keep insects in check. Unfortunately, wooly bears have been gone now for the past three years. Anyone seen any? I hope it is just in this area.

I have three indoor cats. Does that count as having fur?

yes, dori, Seattle had it bad all last month... set their all time rain record for ANY month... and yet, the bush apologists continue to claim that there is nothing to fear from global warming...

Yes, it is cold and talk is of lake effect snow but I haven't looked out the door yet today. We are pretty far inland for lake effect, but the storm on Oct 13th clobbered us.

I did hear the snow plow go by about an hour ago...

I would NEVER wrap myself in fur that came from an animal, no matter how cold it got, Stripey. I have nothing that is made from such material, anyway. BUT I DO have lots of capilene underwear, a few of those butterfleece jackets and pullovers I got from Patagonia, and some thinsolate gloves and hats. My husband, who is a cross-country skier and hiker, makes sure we are well-equipped for the coldest of times. His closet is full of warm, rugged, outdoor clothing and gear.

We're told by our local weather person that we can expect flurries tomorrow night and into Thursday. It was 18 chilly degrees this morning when I awoke and the power was out....must have been a problem that was quickly fixed as it came back on about 30 minutes later. I just stayed hunkered down under the covers until the heat came back on. One of the best things I ever gave myself and my husband was a couple of sets of thick, flannel sheets from the L.L. Bean company. One set goes on our bed about mid-November and I interchange the sets throughout the winter.

And I agree, I do not have any fur except that on my live animals. Intend to keep it that way too.

During the Oct 13th storm aftermath here, there are numerous reports of people who owned or rented generators--only to have them stolen during the storm clean-up.

Are we a great country or what? Maybe that should be, do we teach great values here or what???

Btw, has the cold blast been shaped like a fetus? I remember some irresponsible talk about Hurricane Katrina...
