Hello. I go by the name Pueblo. I am a male, a university graduate, world traveler, writer, and a reader. I teach. I have taught at schools, colleges, private schools, and at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

I already know that mainstream media can put forward versions of facts that are grossly divergent from the truth, and get away with it. They can leave out pertinent facts to influence perceptions, and they can outright lie to the same effect. I was not born yesterday.

Welcome Pueblo. It sounds like you understand what is going on here in good ol' America.

Any ideas how we can get media to actually tell us some truths?

Ahh, that is a beautiful dream...

Welcome Pueblo. Personally, my eyes were opened considerably a few years ago, when I began to search for news on the internet. I quickly found that the US news media was filtering the news for US consumption, and the only way to discover the truth was to search out various foreign news agencies, or to find news from small independent news sources.

Now, of course, the many blogs have somewhat shamed even US news media to be a little more forthcoming. It is a long battle, but we may yet force them to return to honest journalistic standards.
