PRESS RELEASE FROM THE VETERANS PARTY CHAIRMAN

The Veterans Party of America would like to make a statement on the Million Veterans March (MVM). In the beginning the Veterans Party was asked to help with announcing the MVM to the veterans of America. The Veterans Party was not asked to be involved in the planning or sponsoring of the MVM but believed in the reasons that the MVM was founded on, and for this reason we have done everything we could to get the word out to veterans all over this great nation.

In the process of working on the ground issues that would make the MVM a success for all veterans, several things would have to come into play. It would involve pain staking careful planning for the care and welfare of all veterans that would be attending this event. Logistical paperwork that would have to be issued to parties concerned and appointments would have to met before this event could actually happen in our nation’s capital. And last but not least the MVM would not be a success if the message of our veteran’s fell on deaf ears by the ones that really needed to hear what each and everyone of you have to say. And at this late date and time that would not happen.

Many veterans are still planning to march on Washington, DC on June 8, 2005, and the Veterans Party of America (VET) again would like to state that we fully support any and all veterans that plan on attending the event. The Coordinator for the MVM is Bobby R. Price, LT, USN (Ret.) please contact his office for any farther information about the MVM on June 8th.

After careful consideration of this event and talking to the administration of the City of Washington, DC and the Department of Interior it has been decided that the Veterans Party of America will plan a “Million Veterans March” at a later date where better planning and logistics would give all veterans the voice that they so rightly deserved.

Sincerely,

Phillip Meskin

Veterans Party Chairman
