There are just so many things that our government has done and is still doing that makes me angry.
A 1950 Supreme Court decision, commonly known as the Feres Doctrine, prohibits soldiers from suing the government for injuries "incident to [military] service," Cronan said.
As the government's lawyer spoke, Matthew sat with his wife, Janise, in a courtroom packed with supporters and quietly shook his head. Less than 10 months after Matthew returned from Iraq, his wife gave birth to a girl, Victoria.
Their baby was missing three fingers on one hand.

But....it does not prohibit the spouse from suing the government.

No doubt that the cause was... Depleted Uranium Munitions or DUMb as I call them...
It's a pity that thousands of medical records chronicling Iraqi birth defects observed by their doctors were destroyed in the riots that occurred after the american invasion...
All too convinient for those that don't think there's a connection between those Iraqi birth defects and the thousands of tonnes of DUMb dropped on Iraq during the first Gulf War...
yeah, you can color me a cynic on this...
