i agree with the part about the gays, but that Nazi propaganda is in no way a comparism to christians.

cathy, as well as yourself, has every right to speak out for or against an issue. i, also, agree with everything she posts, especially when it comes to religion....not a good subject with me. if i had it my way, all so called "christians" would be rounded up and put in one state without permission to leave....alaska comes to mind.

you should try reading some of the posts in the forum instead of boring everyone with your "cut and paste" jobs.

good question, sotek. here in rochester, new york, they don't allow gays in the catholic church, and the local bishop has openly said they will never be "blessed" by the catholic church.

but, once a year, the bishop will go down to the pier on lake ontario and "bless" the boats as they float by, altho i personally believe it's just a show of wealth.

and, once a year, the bishop will hold an annual "bless your pet" day, where people bring every animal imaginable to be "blessed" by the bishop.

now, if the catholic church can find it within themselves to "bless" inanimate objects such as boats, and bless animals, you would think they'd follow their teachings towards fellow human beings and realize that gays are people too.

i think it's comical they way the church carries on and exploits it's hypocrisy. it's not only the catholic church, but all religions act the same way...go figure.

On and on it goes. Persecution by a bigoted group of idealistic moral accountants worthy as Catherine said of Goebbels style hate propaganda. I guess pandering to the elite Jew who controls the cinema, media and general entertainment business is out of fashion. Fortunately there is an outlet for the hate and bigotry of Americans from all levels of society that keeps them from realizing that rich or poor, someone is worse off, even sexually, than they are. It is like the idea of a third world country that one can compare their standards to ours, "At least we are eating something here and we don't live like them". Something to guage our entitlement and advantage as being privileged for the opportunity to be allowed to have hopes and dreams about freedom to be and liberty to achieve happiness.

All of these figures are biased unfounded statements and can be refuted. Take pedopheilia. It's been proven that 80% of captured pedophiles admit to believing they're heterosexual. Catholic priests who abuse children were driven to the church by guilt about homosexual tendancies but found that the only victims that they could abuse were young children who they were able to fill with fear and continue to abuse. This transferrence developed fear in the victim so deep that many of them lived with it forever, or until someone else stepped forward and accused the priest of sexual misconduct.

Most gays live in a subculture of fear and secrecy akin to the drug addicts psychosis and paranoia . Fear of being caught, fear of exposure at work, paranoia of consequences of their acts, both manifest and spiritual, fear of parents reproach and subsequent denial of existence. Their suicide rate is among the highest for their demographic and they have nowhere to turn. The church feels that it is a lifestyle choice and can be controlled like most "Perverse sexual desires", but after treatment support is near non existent and the poor person is left with his feelings and desires to deal with in a cold cruel non loving world. Most of these people are poor and are relegated to menial service jobs so they are not well off as is portrayed.

This bigotry and hatred must stop.

The optimum word is FEAR. We tend to HATE what we don't know enough about. Homosexuality has been feared and denigrated for eons, yet those who are spreading the hatred really know so little about it.

By the way, have you ever seen the wonderful Audrey Hepburn film "The Children's Hour?"

It was made in 1961 and, for the time, is quite incredible. It shows how gossip and misunderstanding about an alleged homosexual relationship between two women leads to tragedy.
