The Sin of Christian ZIONISM


Modern church history is replete with false Christian leaders being manipulated by the Zionist faction. One of today’s most blithering exponents of Christian Zionism is the obese John Hagee, pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio and author of the nonsensical Jerusalem Countdown: A Warning to the World. Hagee is a self-absorbed megalomaniac who in 1975 unbiblically divorced his wife of 15 years and married the much younger (by 12 years) Diana Castro — court records contain a letter by Hagee to his church in which he admitted to sexual immorality.

Hagee is also head of Christians United for Israel (CUFI) which for two days in July held the Washington/Israel Summit in Washington D.C. declaring the undying support of Zionist Christians to the nation of Israel. Hagee virtually espouses no other message than that of Israel-worship and last days insanity.

The Christian Zionist version of dispensationalism states that a pre-tribulation rapture will remove the faithful church from the world in which God will then return His focus to His “first love”, Israel. From that point Israel will become the centerpiece of seven years of hell on earth. With the present conflict between Israel and Lebanon raging you can imagine the sheer giddiness of most prophecy teachers.

Classical dispensationalism is more parenthetical. Israel, because of her rejection of Christ, is essentially placed on “hold” while the church age transpires. During this period no actual prophecies for Israel are fulfilled. This is not “their” dispensation. This is rather the “time of the Gentiles to be fulfilled” (Luke 21:24; Romans 11:11-12, 25).

The Christian Zionists have therefore hijacked dispensationalism in placing the fulcrum of church history on the 1948 establishment of the Israel as a nation-state.
