What is Scientology...

This "religion" by far is the most dangerous of all.

I almost got sucked into this organization when I was a young woman in my early 20's and living in LA. Calif.

For starters:
Their members are not allowed to read anything on the internet that is in opposition of their beliefs. Most members who have computers with internet access, have a "net nanny" installed that was given to them by the organization.

They infiltrated the IRS building and stole many things . They then got information about the admin at the IRS and blackmailed them into submission to get their tax-exempt status.

The organization breaks up families, abuses their members on Staff and in the Sea Org.

"Fair-games" ex-members and critics.

This is a website I recommend to find out MUCH more about this so-called "church". www.xenu.net

Have any of you heard of this "church" and what are your opinions of it?

You mean to tell me that "ANY religion" breaks into the IRS building and steals things?

Subjects their members to go days without sleep?

Charges their members untold thousands of dollars for their services?

Tells their members they are infested with BT's (Body Thetans) that need to be audited out of them for a nominal fee of $1000.00 per hour or more?

No, but close!

I just dont see to much evidence for most of this stuff and just see it as more evidence why religion is an insane idea altogether.

See, thats not how a discussion works. If you have a point you make, then its up to you to provide it to me, with reasonable ease. By dumping a shit pile on me and expecting me to go through it hardly counts as evidence.

Now, you made the claim they broke into IRS offices then provide me with a page which speaks about lawsuits. Thats hardly counts as breaking into an IRS office.

Well, you got lucky, i found this in one of the first few paragraphs:

However, when I searched for the terms bolded above in ALL of the cases from 1987, I couldnt find anything speaking about this event.

However, after further searching, I found the case. The author above isnt that good at citing .

However, to get back to the point, all of this, even if true, hardly makes scientology any more dangerous than any other religion.

Christians have a history of wanting to overthrow the entire government and institute a theocracy. The government is infused to the core with christian fundamentalists.

I see no evidence to support your belief that scientology is the most "dangerous" religion.

Scientology has high profile kooks under its faith, but it's not the most dangerous.

Conservative christians take the prize by super far. There are a heck of a lot more conservative christians in top political posts than scientologists.

I agree, CZ...the conservative christians are like the Inquisition. While Scientology does indeed seem to be strange and unhealthy, as all religions are IMO, the right-wing conservative christians want to turn back the clock to medieval times and they have a lot of political pull in our nation right now.
