I am middle aged and probably need a new source of income.

Custom aquarium maintenance has been a good part time source of income but the aquarium industry has been in decline for some time. I also don't like doing it full time and it is not a great job for a senior citizen.

Wedding photography has always been rags and riches, I have done that for ten years. It is suffering quite badly and reality indicates that more and more people will decide to "do it themselves." The numbers of wedding photographers has also more than quadrupled since 2000.

I seem to like sitting at a computer and feel comfortable doing my own basic web site changes.

Needing a career with a good future and a background in photography, I am very strongly considering web site design.

So I am asking for helpful opinions and "good advice".

I plan to sit in on a university course from my alma mater this week. This will help evaluate a few things. I would want advanced skills so would take at least a couple university courses.

I think you're doing the best thing, PT...get the inside scoop from people who know about it.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. :D

Thanks for the kind words.

It is a senior level computing course so they might be talking "Greek".

Sounds like you have a winning plan there, PT.

Good luck in your travels to your new choice of employment or self owned business. Your posts here have been insightful and knowledgable so I have no doubt you will find just what you are looking for. And have some fun along the way--life is short so enjoy what you can while you can.

Thanks for the kind words Dori.

But my insightful and knowledgeable posts are probably more likely to get me into the 'Sing Sing facility for attitude adjusting'.

I think the government has that in mind for all of us, even if we are not insightful and knowledgeable. America no longer believes in 'the little people' having opinions.
