holy cow people. its official. i work with a moron. i left him alone and i dont call him names but he has crossed the insane line at work. my "DIE HARD" republican co worker let us all know this weekend that his party means more to him than his newborns health. lets start from the top. work is a lil fragile right now. were on the brink of lay offs. we have done 2 major cuts so far in 3 months. those of us who are still there are fortunate. its been somber this week cuz some of us lost friends and some of us didnt know who was getting cut. that being said a lot of peolpe at work blame the economy for it. no one at work like bush. NO ONE. except one person who stands and defends him everyday. he has now alienated himself from everyone at work because he argues with everyone. we were all talking about what we were gonna do if we got laid off. couple people got mad and said if Clinton were still prez we would be in better shape. HOLY SHIT people it bout started a fight. Joe repub jumps up and yells "are you fucking serious?! if he were still president we would all be speaking arabic, and the economy was tanking before he left. HE DID THIS!!!" "do you people remember 911? thats why were here." i just shook my head and said "wow". im not wasting my time on that ignorant arguement. we started talkin about options and i said " if it comes down to it you can get govnt assistance" He jumps up out of his chair and says "IM A PROUD REPUBLICAN! I WILL WORK 3 8$ AN HOUR JOBS TO GET BY IF I HAVE TO!!!" i said "ok what about the baby? you have a newborn who needs shots, vitamins, medicine. how you gonna pay for that?" "I DONT NEED THAT SHIT AND NEITHER DOES SHE. WELL MANAGE" he says. I was like "wow dude. you will put your party ahead of the welfare of your child." "YOUR DAMN RIGHT I WILL. I NO WHATS BEST". i have now lost all respect for someone like that. to add salt in the wound, while were talkin about that another employee is looking up info comparrison on bush and Clinton on the internet. i finish talkin and my friend tells me to look at the screen. Joe repub looks too and blows up! "ALL THAT WAS AFTER 911. YOU CANT HOLD HIM RESPONSIBLE!" and STORMS off pissed!! i am at a loss for words, theres more but i have to leave so ill be back later.

Hey, justin...you could send that scenario to Comedy Central and maybe get paid a lot of bucks! I feel sorry for that Repub's family...his poor child...can you imagine the kind of upbringing she's going to have? What's her mother like?

ok. as of now i no longer work for Dell. they have outsourced the work to another company to save money (i guess). we dont get the skinny on anything. all in know is they started laying people off like crazy, it got tense and stressful. now the uncertainty is over. basically nothing changed but the name of the building. so thats good news. well in the transition we have to pick up new insurance. this is where it gets good. FINALLY someone sees the liberal point of view is not so bad. my conservative "friend" FINALLY saw one of his ideologies hurts him. Dells insurance recognizes domestic partners. for some asinine reason people automatically think that means "GAY" partner. well it does not. it can mean an unwed family (which is against the conservative ideology). well our new insurance DOES NOT recognize domestic partners. my "friend" has a child with his girlfriend WHICH they are not wed. so therefor the new insurance DOES NOT recognize his girlfriend. in our orientation meeting we talked about benefits an such and he asked the question about his girlfriend being covered. they told him verbatim they only recognize marriage between a man and a woman, not civil unions or unwed families. i watched his heart hit the ground. I actually felt bad. i went to him after the meeting and said "see......not every LIBERAL idea is bad. you finally see that domestic partner does not mean GAY all the time. this is the exact scenario liberals try to help with and you hate us for it. your ideology fights against it. now it bites you in the ass." he just stood there with nothing to say.

Now I have a question that is bugging me. I ditched Norton, it strikes me as spyware, and installed Zone Alarm yesterday.

I keep getting messages that it is stopping what seems to be hacker attempts from...my own IP address. Strange?

But my computer seems to be thoroughly hijacked for the past several years. You would need a few drinks to listen to why.

how tight do you have your security settings on? is windows firewall and antivirus (Vista) running also? they cause probs too if you are running a secondary AV an firewall. only run one. i personally like ZA myself. ive always thought they did a good job and theyre not a resource hog. Norton is the most common and gets hijacked easily. im not going to tell you it wasnt an attack but ive seen so many cases where it was the firewall just picking up EVERYTHING. if it was then it was more than likely an amateur. i personally dont use anything. fyi....stay away form the porn sites (pointing at you) ha ha
