Well he's gone. Another one who became a news statistic by dying of lung cancer. So much for those late night smokey room gabfest sessions, with the boys in the newsroom discussing what's fit for news.
When he was in Canada, during the vietnam war, he wasn't afraid to broadcast the truth about what was really going on in Vietnam. As a 9 year old he got his start as a interviewer on a saturday morning kids interview show on CBC radio, so news has been in his blood forever.
Whatever happened to his honesty and code of ethics, was lost when the lure of the BIG BUCK$ of American corporate media lured and tempted him into the shady world of the embedded media, south of the border. Whenever I think of the paid minions of the newsworld, I think of a bingo caller at the helm, calling out the numbers as they come up. Well when Jennings became an Americanised bingo caller, all he had left was the wait until his number came up.
As with all the cowardly lying bought out media bingo callers in the world, we can only hope their number comes up and their legacy is merely o69'er. I'd like to b1 too- not.
