as i stated before, we bought 1200 sq feet of hardwood flooring. we just finished the bedroom this weekend. lemme tell ya, i can see why they charge alot of money to install this stuff. my knees and back are killing me.

all that's left is the baseboards and it's finished. time to move onto the hallway in the next coupls of days.....

GORGEOUS! Good job!

And you'll love it forevermore! We had hardwood put down in our living room and dining room...now I"m saving up to have it put down in the hall and in our bedroom. It's so easy to take care of..just damp mop.

my goal is to eliminate every stich of carpeting in the house. if we have any, it'll be in the form of throw rugs....so that i can throw them out when i get sick of them.

I'll leave the carpeting in the two guest rooms...they're used rarely now anyway.

And throw rugs are much easier to clean up spills, animal pee or throw up...Just throw 'em out. :D

Wow! Nice wood floors in a house! All I have is carpet in an apartment! I compensate with frequent vacuuming and no pets. Like Dog The Bounty Hunter, I prefer the look of freshly vacuumed carpet.

thanks.....the hallway is next. however, i have to resolve an issue, which i believe i have done, before i can finish that. i had to order special moldings for the hallway. i'll post pictures of that when done.

then....the living room and dining room are next!! it's alot of work, but i kinda enjoy doing it...especially when it comes out right..lol

the nice thing about this particular wood is that the color you see now isn't the color it stays. after about 8 months, it turns a dark redish color...nothing like the color it is now.

yea...me too. just finished the hallway. what a pain that was. this weekend is the big rooms: living room and dining room. gotta move all the furniture out into the garage, rip out the carpets, the foam under them, remove all the baseboards, then rip out the old oak flooring under that, remove all nails, etc etc, sweep and vacuum the whole area, then lay down felt paper, snap chalk lines to mark each floor joist, measure 4 times to make sure the floor will be square to the room.....i'm tired already.
