The morale does seem to be a bit better. I wouldn't call it "happy" yet but I definately see a difference in the morale of those around me. (Excluding one side of my family)

Those I've been around who disliked the Bushies are elated. Those who voted Republican are keeping their mouths tightly shut, and their lips are a bit white around the edges.

I think one of the silliest statements I heard about the Heath Shuler win over Rep. Charles Taylor was: "Well, I wish Shuler hadn't won...and that's all I'm going to say about it." :offtheair:

For a sensitive, you can feel the difference in the air and the earth itself. There is no longer the heaviness that once was. It is still there but not so much that we find it difficult to breath.

The air seems cleaner.

The earth has breath a sigh of relief.

Thanks, Stripes...shoeless likes Shuler, too! I hope Shuler lives up to our expectations.

I don't feel that small sense of apprehension every time I come online and start to post at this and other left-leaning, anti-Bush websites. :P

Yes, the Torture Bill is still on the books. Yes, Bush can still determine who is an enemy combatant. Yes, the Patriot Act is there and needs to be amended or rescinded...but I think the Constitution has been given a new lease on life. Best of all, I feel a sense of new hope, a new awakening...America might come back from the brink...lots remaining to be seen but at least, (if Lieberman doesn't turn his coat one more time) the people have spoken loudly and we're not under Republican rule...and soon Bush will not be living in our White House. He'll be back in Crawford, or wherever his daddy tells him to go, and I hope Fox News goes with him.
