looks orwellian. Who knows, newspapers may not exist as we know them today. I used to use newspapers to start fires in my fireplace but stopped that because of the ill effects on the chimney...and my mind if I read any of the crap therein prior to the strike of the match. I have no use for papers anymore except to roll my cigarettes with and to wipe my "bush" with.

Indeed...my local newspaper is full of right-wing crap, but stuck in a few corners, I can find editorials and letters to the editor that are written by people who are progressive and freethinking. They're like small voices in the wilderness of Jeebusland.

However, this week the publisher had written an excellent piece about the SS situation and how the Bushies had not proposed that everyone pay into the SS tax, including those who make $90,000 and above.

He'll probably be slammed in next week's issue.
