Video: Bush Sr., Jeb praise Ford, get peppered with political questions
Wednesday December 27, 2006
Former President George H.W. Bush, his wife Barbara, and son Gov. Jeb Bush held an impromptu press conference to discuss Gerald Ford, the late president who passed away yesterday at the age of 93.
Gov. Bush and his father praise Ford for bringing the nation out of Watergate, for his strong character as a leader, and for being a friend.
The conference was interrupted by technical issues and was led off-track by questions from reporters, including one who asked the former President about Saddam Hussein's death sentence and another who asked the departing governor about having "nothing in the future." Gov. Bush retorted that his words had been taken out of context.
