There is no necessary reason to reinstate the draft right now.

I find it interesting that the some people here think we should reinstate the draft, simply so that everyone serves in the military. :?

Stripey did you watch it? I unfortunatly missed the part about the draft, but, I did watch the fool Richards. My gosh what the hell was that guy drinking for him to go off like that. It was sickening to watch.

Think it will ever happen?

I think that it could be a good idea if it was truly universal. If the children of the elite and the policymakers were required to serve then I think they would be far less likely to jump in over their heads like this.

Here's an idea, anyone who holds elected office and has children of age for the draft, those children will automatically be transferred to combat arms and slated for transfer to whatever units will be sent into combat. Put the senator's children on the front and see how their judgement of "necessary conflict" changes.

yep... and I'm one of them... and in my not so humble opinion, there are far too many republicans that support the war ON Iraq that failed to serve their country when it was THEIR turn to do so...

In actuality, I favor MANDATORY MILITARY SERVICE for everyone... including you, jobot...

Yes, I did watch it... fortunately there are sites online that keep KO's Special Comments for others to view... I'll see if I can find them for you... I love the KO show... I whole heartedly recommend it to all those searching for a voice of reason in Main Stream Media...

Will they reinstate the draft?

no...
