Dead voters: Fox continues to push 'voter fraud' claims
Fox News is continuing its crusade against what the New York Times pooh-poohs as "the myth of voter fraud," looking for the kind of evidence of widespread cheating that has already been used to justify disenfranchising mainly poor and elderly voters.
"We've been hearing for months now, record numbers of voters casting their ballots in the primary states," stated Fox's Gregg Jarrett. "Well, the only thing uncertain -- how many of them were dead?"
"In Connecticut," Jarrett continued, "a little legwork by a group of journalism students actually found thousands of folks still eligible to vote -- and in some cases, the votes of the dead people were actually being counted."
"They vote from beyond the grave, believe it or not," Fox's Eric Shawn chimed in. "An investigation by a group of University of Connecticut students found more than 8500 deceased people still on the rolls, and they say more than 300 of them had somehow been counted as casting ballots after they died."
"The system is vulnerable," journalism professor Marcel Dufresne, whose students conducted the investigation, told Fox. He went on to say, somewhat confusedly, "With a little cooperation here and there ... you could use this and get people to vote for people who have died."
