Conservatives Deny Reality, Claim Increasingly Popular Recovery Plan Is Losing Support

The drum that must be beaten now is reality. If the stimulus fails to kick start the economy, it must be shouted from the rooftops the reason is the weakening of the program due to "bipartisanship." The problems with this current package aren't that it is too radical but rather that it is too conservative. We have had 28 years of tax cuts, which is what brought to the brink of disaster (if not over the brink). The refusal of the "loyal opposition" to support the program after so many concessions is unconscionable. It is time for the nuclear option on filibuster rules. The survival of the Republic demands it. Our short-term memory seems nonexistent. When the Repugs were in power, they brooked no concessions, time for them to taste their own medicine. We cannot allow them to weaken the package and make its failure a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Dont worry. When this stimulus fails they will all be right there arguing about the same false issues once again at which point they will throw billions more into the black hole.

Those on the left will point at those on the right blaming them for the failure, those on the right will point at those on the left in an attempt to prove that thiers was the right way.

All the while the world still burns, the wars still rage, and the true enemy further consolidates their power.

Drums of reality indeed. The Republic died many, many years ago.

I remember very well when the Repubs, lead by Sen. Frist, wanted to do away with the filibuster....
