The news in Mi this morning focused on the crowds at the Palin book signing in Grand Rapids MI....over 1000 in line. Apparently, South Bend is not on the same Palin bandwagon as GR. Since I live almost equi-distant between GR and South Bend IN, I shop at B&N in both locations. And happened to be at the Barnes and Noble in SB this afternoon.
I was curious about the suppossed phenomena of the Palin book. Expecting some check out lines due to the strong demand. But the odd thing is..... there was absolutely no visible activity at that book store for the Palin book. I checked out the 2 displays and there appeared to be 3, maybe 4, copies of the book missing/i.e. sold. Of course, the entire inventory might have been purchased earlier inthe day and restocked. So I asked the B&N clerk as I was checking out..."how many copies of the Palin book have you sold?" Her answer was ZERO!!!! None, not a single copy. In the time I was in the store, I did not see one person looking at the Palin section, carrying the Palin book, let alone buying one
