Watch anything that dealt with 9-11 yesterday. I did not watch news reports, read the paper or listen to the radio. If a report came on the station I was watching I turned the station.
Then last night while watching the History Channel something caught my eye "The man who predicted 9-11" I Tivo'd it along with Keith last night.
My wife and I watched the History channel story this morning. I cried once again because of 9-11, not because of all the deaths and destruction but because one man was able to save 2700 employees. He worked for Morgan Stanley and was their security chief. He trained the employees on how to evacuate the building at the first sign of anything wrong. He predicted the first attack on the trade center and how it would be done, but, nobody listened to him. Until it happened and then they did. He showed the people emergency routes to take, to walk out not in a panic but calmly.
He knew another attack was going to happen. He planned on it, he told the owners of Morgan Stanley to move OUT of the towers. They did not.
Rick Rescorla perished in the towers and his body was never found. But, he is a true. He knew what he had to do and he did it.-
He like so many others are the unsung heroes of this day.
