WE WATCH FAUX SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO: NEWS HOUNDS

THE SITE DEVOTED TO EXPOSING FAUX NEWS FOR WHAT IT IS: PROPAGANDA!

Check it out...

Quote:
Like many projects, this one started out as something else. In early 2004, eight middle-aged citizens from different backgrounds and locations around the USA teamed up via MoveOn.org and the internet (thank you, Al Gore!) to volunteer our services for OUTFOXED, a documentary film by Robert Greenwald regarding Fox News Channel. For approximately three months, each of us watched FNC conscientiously for five or more hours a week and posted our findings regarding Fox's self-proclaimed mission of fair and balanced reporting.

Appalled by our results, we, who would not meet in person until months later, banded together in cyberspace in concern and outrage over the failure of American media, and Fox News in particular, to relate the news properly. Rather than serve as the public's eyes and ears, Fox and other media conglomerates have become echo chambers for the rich and powerful with whom they have become all too cozy. This blog is an attempt to counter that alarming condition. We believe that a viable democracy depends upon viable media. We invite you to join us in our efforts here and elsewhere to make a difference in the future of our country

Dori, thank you for that link. I love Al Frankin. After he is Senator for 8 years, I think he will make a great successor to Barak Obama as President of the United States.

Wouldn't it be pleasant to have him the first Jew elected to national office instead of Joe LIEberman?

I love Franken too! Wouldn't it be great to have that sense of humor combined with good sense and a caring person rather than Norm Coleman sitting in the Minnesota Senate seat? Paul Wellstone had to die so the Rs could put that turkey in the Senate.

(Take care, Al Franken, do not ride on small planes!)

And yes, the first Jewish person elected to national office shouldn't be Joe LIEberman, Al Franken is such a better choice! Let's care about our country for a while at least.

Fox host blames egg salad attack on Obama fan

Reporting on concerns over Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's safety on the campaign trail, Fox News conflated an egg-salad "attack" on a secret service agent, Obama's sometimes over-eager fans and the assassinations of civil rights leaders in the 1960s.

"Barack Obama has a lot of big fans but one woman went a bit too far, sending his secret service detail into action," Fox's Martha McClullen said Monday. She went on to recap the story of a Texas state capitol employee who became frustrated at a Secret Service agent who wouldn't allow her to return to her office when Obama spoke at the capitol Friday.

Darn, now I want an egg salad sandwich. The kind with little pieces of green olive in it like they used to make at Strong Hospital.

Well I'll give the Secret Service points for consistency. When my first son was born (1987), we were refused admittance to the scheduled hospital because they had shut down the hospital to ANY entrance or exit because the Pope was visiting the hospital that day. People already inside could not leave and no new people could enter for any reason. All ambulances and emergency were directed to a different hospital. Those in the hospital were warned to stay away from windows lest the Secret Service sharpshooters think you were a potential assassin.
Fortunately, the doctor had privileges at another hospital, where the wife got a single room and we both got a steak and lobster dinner. The original hospital would have been a four bed room with normal hospital fare.

Al Franken Decade

People are going to stop thinking about themselves and start thinking about me, Al Franken. That's right. I believe we're entering the Al Franken decade. Oh, for me, Al Franken, the eighties will be pretty much the same as the seventies. But for you, when you see a news report you'll be thinking "I wonder what Al Franken thinks about this?" "I wonder how this inflation thing is hurting Al Franken?" And you women will be thinking "What can I wear that will please Al Franken?" or "What can I not wear?" A lot of you are probally thinking "Why Al Franken?" Well, because I thought of it, and I'm on TV.

FOX NEWS COMMENTATORS USE THE TALKING POINTS THE WHITE HOUSE SEND THEM

On MSNBC’s Hardball last night, host Chris Matthews asked former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan if he saw “FOX television as a tool” to get the White House’s “message out” while he was in the Bush administration. “Certainly there were commentators and other, pundits at FOX News, that were useful to the White House,” replied McClellan, adding that they were given “talking points.”

Making a distinction between journalists like Brit Hume and commentators like Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly, McClellan admitted that “certainly” the White House used Fox News talking heads as “spokespeople” with “a script”:

Fox News’s close relationship to the Bush administration should come as no surprise to anyone, considering Fox’s Neil Cavuto once ran a segment asking if George W. Bush was “the best President.” But, as Olbermann notes, it “is one of those things you assumed to be true all along, yet you are shocked when the hard confirmation actually shows up on your door.”

Not only is Fox the network the White House turned to when Vice President Dick Cheney had to explain how he shot his friend in the face, but the network has also produced sympathetic documentaries on both Cheney and President Bush
