We are #1 in several things though:

Incarceration rate...nobody else comes close. Where else can you be told you are free while living in the least free nation in the world?

Military...literally kicks ass. We spend more than the rest of the world put together I think.

Its all about priorities. Why treat people when you can kill and incarcerate? Which is surely a more macho thing to do.

I didn't see the video so don't know if this was addressed, but I believe we are the only 'first world' country that has the murder penalty.
