If you like a quick mystery read that is highly entertaining without taxing your brain too much, try Sue Henry's books. I've just finished my first encounter with the character Maxie and her mini-dachshund Stretch in The Serpent's Trail. Maxie is 63 years old and spends most of the year in Alaska, but enjoys RVing down to New Mexico for the winter, just her and Stretch. They make a good pair of sleuths as they meander around in their RV.
