THE CHALLENGER TRAGEDY IN PICTURES

Can you remember where you were and how you found out about the CHALLENGER Tragedy? What was your initial reaction?

I was home that day due to snow causing the schools to be closed. I wasn't watching television, but my mother called me to tell me what had happened. After that, I watched it the rest of the day. So sad and I felt a very personal loss because one of the astronauts had been a teacher. When we got back to school, it was all the students wanted to talk about so I let them write down their responses. Our local newspaper published them in the next week's edition.

God, if we only had legislation written down, straight from the heart of our politicians, like your kids did at school that dreary day.

I love watching kids expressions, their thought processes, before they finally speak.

It truly is an "art form."

I've got a copy of their responses somewhere in one of my school files...when I get a chance, I'll find it and copy some of the kids' thoughts for everyone to read.

Yeah, assuming that there are any politicians in DC today who actually have a heart...I fear that they are few and far between and none of them have R after their names.
