during the vietnam war era, as many of us were protesting the war, i encountered many exactly like bucky. like today, they got media attention as being "patriotic americans", where as we were portrayed as being anti-american. however, as time went on, the mood of the country swung the other way. the media was now giving attention to anti-war people and putting our view points on the evening news....even the media started to swing anti-war. sadly it took the loss of 55,000 american boys before america woke up.
those die hard flag wavers soon became a minority and quietly slipped away. history always repeats itself and today we can see the beginning of america getting tired of this war and this administration. all the "buckies" will soon be confined to their private little web sites and be content with only amusing themselves.
change is happening in america right now and you have to be either blind, ignorant, or just a complete fool to continue thinking that america is doing the right thing by being involved in this war in iraq.
we need to focus more on americans. FX channel has an excellent series right now "30 days". last night it was showing how americans try to live on minimum wage. after viewing that segment, we need to take a closer look at americans and a national health care system.
300 billion for iraq and yet we refuse to help each other.
