American heroes and/or heroines have always stood up for freedom and in defense of the Constitution. There are many such people who have possibly been lost in the shadows of history or perhaps simply lost because their points of view were unpopular or they did not blend with the times.

In this thread, let's talk about those people.

Mr. Korematsu's story is an important one, but perhaps even more so today as we see many of our freedoms being taken away in the name of so-called "security."

Fred Korematsu is an ordinary man who defied the order to go to the Japanese-American internment camps during W.W. II because he believed it wasn't right. His case changed legal history and resulted in an apology by our government for wrongdoings, as well as reparations to 120,000 living Japanese-Americans.
