My Breezy, the golden one in the picture above used to love to watch Vanna (on Wheel of Fortune ) as she walked back and forth across the screen... and once, when Vanna was wearing a stunning sparkley dress in red, he reached out and touched the screen as she walked by...

now, Breezy is no ordinary cat... he's a Bengal Cat... he's very close to his wild ancestor but not so close as to be considered an exotic pet... four generations is considered domestic... Breezy and his half-brother Obi are both 6 generations from their wild ancestor... so maybe his vision is different... cuz you should see his eyes... big... round... green...

Thank you for the information, mga. Very interesting!

I had a TV lose the red hues once and it was certainly, ah, er, different. Needless to say, it was pretty much unusable. Guess you have to be an animal to be able to appreciate programming that limited in form.

So dogs and cats 'see' TV differently. Considering their lives are different, it would stand to reason their eyes and brains would function differently too.

I have the feeling my cats really did enjoy their week enjoying picture shows before returning to the real thing outdoors.

One question, was Stripey's cat admiring Vanna or her glistening red dress since cats can't see red? Maybe they can still see 'glisten'?

The latest breaking news on CNN is that cats have a redundant gene that they think may be a sweet tooth stimulus. If so, it may explain why cats are called a "sour puss". Cats have fewer taste buds than dogs or humans, and the absence of a sweet tooth may explain their preference for an Atkins type high protein diet.

I tawt I taw a puddy cat?

Now back to the terror, which is already in progress. This is CNN. The Cat News Network.

It's funny, he never really bites them.... jiust bats them around and he also likes red paper wrapped hard candies and he'll pick those out of the bowl containing a myriad of colors...

He's some cat...

Indeed he is Stripey, indeed he is!

I'll have to see if my playful guy plays differently with different colored toys.

And how come they put food coloring into cat food if cats can't see colors? Of course, so the PEOPLE can see how pretty the food is!

Crud.

I bought him some new mousies yesterday... little furry ones that rattle when he shakes them and gave him two... a yellow one and a red one...

he chose the red one to play with...

Keep an eye on him, come election time. He may be a closet Republican. How could you Stripey, rrrrrrrraise an enemy of the state, in your own litterrrrrr! Reprogram- buy blue toys and force him to play with them.

This leaving the choice up to him in a two colour system, has proven mentally debilitating.

hahahahahaa... he also has blue mousies, green mousies, orange mousies, pink, brown, caramel colored, bicolored, tricolored, white, black... he has all kinds of mousies...

Vote republican? nevah... first off, he's still too young to drive, can't reach the pedals you know...
