Post subject:  Cats DO see red objects

Over on the doggy thread, we were discussing whether or not cats can see the color red... well, I say that they can...

Here's a pic of the boys playing with their red mousie, breeze just put it in his water dish and they are both watching it to see if it tries to escape...

Best laugh I have had in a long while. Yup, they are intently watching to see that it doesn't escape!

I have to admit, my white cat is a mess without his red mouse. He has mice of all colors, but he seeks out the red one. If he is digging frantically, good chance he has thrown it behind or under something and won't be happy until it is back in his clutches again.

I hadn't thought of it before, but I should look for red mice when I am able to shop.

Little Mozzie...the name we gave the "stray" after much deliberation....loves to play with his red "mice." I bought a bunch of toys for him and just put them out for him to choose which one he wanted to play with, and he chose the mice immediately.

It could've been the color or it could've been the shape of the things, but whatever it was, those "mice' are now among his favorites.

What a talker he is! Meow, meow, meowwooooowowoowowow! and his tail twitches just like a squirrel's.

My boyz like them in any color as long as they rattle when they shake them... but... Breezee purrfurrz his red mousies to all the others...

I sometimes see a package of five with 2 red ones and when I do... I snag it... :D

The boys do what we have begun to call yodeling... and now that Breezee has taken to this yowling in the morning, we have a new name for him

Breezee the Yow-lin Preist...

and his morning wakeup calls are his own chants...

Ain't nothing like a bengal cat...

they are big and sassy, dori... they just had their annual check ups and Breezy weighed in at an impressive 19 pounds... but that's because he's solid as a rock... aywk, muscle weighs more than fat... Obi weighed a respectable 17.5 pounds... he's always been smaller... but oooo boy is he ever fast... :D

I'll look for a suitable photo...
