(CNSNews.com) - Following a testy exchange during Wednesday’s briefing with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas told CNSNews.com that not even Richard Nixon tried to control the press the way President Obama is trying to control the press.

“Nixon didn’t try to do that,” Thomas said. “They couldn’t control (the media). They didn’t try

CNS NEWS...a "really" unbiased source, CE! GIVE US A BREAK! TAKE AT LOOK AT THEIR STAFF, PLEASE, ESPECIALLY THE EDITOR IN CHIEF!

Terry Jeffrey – Editor-in-Chief

Terence P. Jeffrey started as editor in chief of CNSNews.com in September 2007. Prior to that, he served for more than a decade as editor of Human Events, where he is now an editor at large. Terry was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area, the seventh of eleven children. Both his parents were doctors of medicine.

Terry earned a bachelors degree in English Literature from Princeton in 1981. In 1984-85, he studied Arabic at the Arabic Language Institute of The American University in Cairo. In 1986-87, he studied in the Masters of Arts in Arab Studies program at Georgetown University, but did not earn a degree. From 1987-91, he was an editorial writer for The Washington Times, (REV. MOON's PAPER!) which nominated him for the Pulitzer Prize for his investigative editorials about then-House Speaker Jim Wright. In 1992, he served as issues and research director for Pat Buchanan’s first Republican presidential campaign. In 1993-1994, he served as executive director of The American Cause, an educational foundation. In 1995-96, he was national campaign manager for Pat Buchanan’s second Republican presidential campaign. Buchanan that year won the Alaska, Louisiana and Missouri caucuses, placed second in the Iowa caucuses, and won the New Hampshire primary. Terry writes a weekly column for the Creators Syndicate and is a regular guest on CNN’s Situation Room. He and his wife, Julie, have five children and live in the Virginia suburbs outside Washington, D.C

Helen Thomas is one of my favorite reporters and she's done a bang up job during her long career. But, she was clearly out of order with the way she was interrupting the exchange between Gibbs and Reid...rudeness from even Helen Thomas is still just that...Rudeness. Her nose was out of joint, obviously...so she gripes to a rightwing news source. Fox must have already left the building!

Not as off topic as you might think.

I would prefer to focus on Helen Thomas, thank you very much, unless of course you now consider her to be biased also.

Give you a break......I have been.

 "Sticking" to Helen Thomas will not alter the fact that your source has executive personnel who are devoted to advancing the Republican cause and/or agenda. I wonder if your source reported anything on Helen Thomas and the Bush admin in the same vein.

It's hardly an attempt to control the media if Robert Gibbs chooses to be professional and extremely patient with a veteran reporter like Thomas. It wasn't very professional of Thomas to behave like a spoiled child while trying to control Robert Gibbs.

Helen is very good at turning a phrase like the Nixon statement. That doesn't change the fact that your source is in the same journalism league as Rupert Murdoch, Rev. Moon, Michelle Malkin (who is also a contributor to your fine source), and Fox Noise.
