LiberalsOnly website says 'Conservatives not welcome'


Anthony Levensalor, of the Watching the Watchers blog, has created a new discussion forum, LiberalsOnly.com, that is serious about what its name says. Hardline conservatives and Republicans will be turned away, and there will be a link on each post to report it to site administrators for possible deletion and the banning of repeat offenders.

Levensalor says of his site policy, "It's not about exclusion, necessarily. It's about bringing together a community of people in the country, the majority of which are liberal. What we're providing is a progressive, liberal format without the distraction of trolls."

Levensalor's hope is to create an online community where "liberals and progressives who want a decent conversation and debate without the nastiness" can gather and share ideas. He says further, "Liberals Only is dedicated to making this a site for intelligent debate among people intelligent enough to know how to debate."

Sounding better all the time!

As we know, liberals can have heated discussions all by themselves, we don't need 'help' from troll types.

That site started off with a big explosion of newly registered people, and seems to be doing ok. I've not been over there as much as I was at first, either, mainly because it seems to be evolving into just another Democratic Underground. However, it's early days yet...we'll wait and see if it actually goes in that direction.

I understand, dori...I feel the same way to some extent. I've posted and read over there. At first, I thought that the site would be another place for us all to go when and if this board ever fell by the wayside, but frankly, I'd rather stay here and do all I can for this board. It's where I started from. Yes, I left it for awhile, but I never lost a connection to it or to all of you. It takes time to build up trust and credibility on discussion boards. I wouldn't know any of you if I passed you on the street, but I know your VOICES, and I think I know your personalities and characters. I like to think that you know mine. For me, that's enough.

That doesn't mean that I'm not always looking for a second home for us, should the need arise! After Rage Report and MRD, I take no nest for granted! If push comes to shove, we'd have to start a board of our own!

This board is so well-organized and nowhere else do we have that private ACTIVISM Club.



That's strange...I suggest that you pm the administrator and ask why you've not been confirmed, Stripey.

This board is so comfortable, it feels like 'home'. I like the people on here, we all differ, yet that just means we get slightly different perspectives from one another. So very much like I would have loved my family to have been.

But I am pleased to have several other boards to visit, and the LiberalsOnly board does seem to be a friendly place. The people there seem to be old friends who are there for the same reason we talk about--to be amongst people they trust and not have to deal with those who live to disrupt. I did see one of them was banned, looks like the stated purpose is what it is advertised to be.

Stripey, hope you are there soon. We need your voice, maybe not your claws. You wouldn't mind a place like that, would you!

I am still a noob. You need 25 posts to move out of noob. It will probably take a while.
