American Blackout is a movie that critically examines the contemporary tactics used to control our democratic process and silence voices of political dissent.

Trailer and background available at link.

If people don't get outraged by this then they are dead. But then many were dead during Katrina. We are surrounded by the walking dead.

There are few movies I would care to see, but this is one of the ones I would like to OWN! I keep trying to interest others in what is happening, this would be a great way to show them, eh?

If people don't get outraged by this then they are dead. But then many were dead during Katrina. We are surrounded by the walking dead.

As I walk among them, the walking dead
these who were once humans, now zombies
staring lifelessly, straight ahead.

No thought can penetrate their lifeless minds,
no rhyme nor reason, can they understand, nor do
they search to find.

I touched one in passing, his attention I tried to get,
the cold lifeless flesh crumbles in my hands, in his one
mindedness he was set.

He passes me by without a notice, he hears not my voice,
He hears not my calls to him, "You can live if you want to,
you do have a choice."

Me he does not notice, but he does notice his kind,
the walking dead all around, they have something in
common they find.

As they talk I do notice, further into decay do they fall,
the rotting stinking mindlessness, they do not understand,
they are spreading to all.

I see an innocent child yet affected, a child so full of life,
so beautiful in her innocence, not recognizing the danger
before her, in this land of strife.

The walking dead kneels down before her, a show of love,
I think there may still be hope for the walking dead,
I find myself praying to that up above.

My hope turns to horror, as the scene before me unfolds,
from the walking dead's mouth spew dark spores,
the young child it enfolds.

The young child is resistant, fighting what she cannot understand,
fighting against this lifelessness, spread from her keepers
dead hand.

I stand there still watching, years flash before my eyes,
the girl is now a woman, she is one of them,
my heart breaks and I cry.

Once beautiful and innocent, but the dead's disease it did spread,
now she walks in their land, her innocence lost
she is now one of the walking dead.

The cycle continues, the dead they still roam,
spreading their disease, never to understand that in their
ignorance, they are destroying our home.

I walk among them, the walking dead.

Thank you:)

I find if funny. I never know what will make me want to write like that. Sometimes a sight, or a smell, or a thought, or in this case that sentence that you wrote. *Wink* You gave me the inspiration for that one. I thank you.

I just came across another mention of this and wanted to post it. I hadn't seen CE's poem before.

As I have said in the past--you really should be published CE. Your words make vivid pictures, this one chilling. These are things that should be shared!
