So, I am a prolific (means I write a lot, but not necessarily well) writer. I would enjoy constructive critism. Is that a possibility here, or is commenting something we shouldn't do as it could hurt feelings...etc? Either way, I'll understand.
Also, cuz I'm just so good that I know people would want to try to profit from my beautiful works (AHAHAHAHA) what's to stop someone from taking other's original works?
Just wondering...let me know what ya'll think.
I guess it depends on what type of works it is that you are talking about. If it is short story's then from an academic point of view I guess that someone could give some constructive criticism on what could be done to make the story a bit better, make it flow a bit better I guess is how it would be termed. As for poetry, I just don't know. Either you like it or you don't. I don't know if poetry can receive constructive criticism because in a way it is what the person is experiencing at the time of the writing. When I am writing at the time, I just write what I feel/see. I honestly don't know if I could change how I write it for the better (to someone else's mind) or for the worse even if I tried, I just let it come as it may.
I until this site very, very rarely let anyone see any of my writings. I was kind of embarrassed, lol, still am even when I put em up here. After I write it I always feel as if it is missing something, but I can never put my finger on it. I think that it is the raw power of what I am feeling at the time. It is impossible to put that into words. What is written is only a shadow of that which I am feeling. I don't know if others feel the same way, but this is the only way I know how to explain it.
As for what is to stop someone from taking other's original works. Lol, I've been warned about this in the distant past, and in the not so distant past (Much to my embarrassment, why would someone want that??). I don't know what to say here. Anyone know about copywrite laws? If it is written here would the time stamp be able to stand up in a court of law as to when the piece was written? You would have to ask someone with more knowledge in this area because I'm just not sure. I was never really worried about it.
Something in the future that could be fun. A compilation of short story's and poetry in print from the members of tvnl. I keep saying that there are great minds on this site, lol, I wonder if the rest of the world would feel the same way. I know that these types of books don't sell all that well, people are just not interested in it anymore. Such a shame.
Ok, that's all from me for now. Anyone else?
