"And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth." Revelation 6:8
The Beast, the Battle.
From his throne the Beast decried,
All who follow come to my side.
With swords drawn they did come,
Sanity's last hold has come undone.
The world did weep with deep pain,
all around have gone insane.
The Beast in fury unleashed his wrath,
The lone white dove fled his path.
With a swath of fury the Beast explained,
"It is you who do not follow who are insane".
"Through death and famine all will bow",
"Or the world itself I will foul".
Far and wide the fear did spread,
The hearts of people filled with dread.
On the flesh he did feast,
The death of souls sustained the Beast.
In impotent fury the Beast has howled,
At those who's hearts could not be fouled.
On these spirits he wished to feed,
Those who dare oppose his want's and need.
Within their heart they carry his fate,
Opposition to his fury and hate.
Within their hearts they carry peace and love,
Inside of themselves they protect the dove.
From within they speak the Word,
Yet so many have not heard.
Many sages of the past,
The words they spoke they hoped would last.
From those such as Plato the WORD's have come,
In Lady Philosophy Boetius has not undone.
Within Shankara's Wisdom told,
In Gandhi's Peace he did prove bold.
In word of TRUTH did the Buddha speak,
From within ourselves did Jesus beg we seek.
The mind of Rumi come the TRUTH,
Yet from all of these we remain aloof.
In the music of Beethoven did the spirit send,
The same that came from what Shakespeare pen 'ed.
In many way's the same they taught,
Showing us the truth which should be sought.
Outside sources tend to inflict,
It is from within we must heal our sick.
To only seek the branches we fail,
Only in exposing the ROOT we may prevail.
The books of history lay yet undone,
From this battle fought we must not run.
To my friends in PEACE this I do send,
In the battle we remain until the end.
I have not lost my mind. I have thrown it away!!
The war to end all wars can only be fought on the front-lines of the mind.
The greatest deception they have perpetrated is that we need them. Our greatest mistake is that we believe them.
