Post subject:  46th Anniversary of Kennedy-Nixon TV Debate #1

nothing really earth shattering by me in this post, a few anecdotes, streaming video, and related links.

it seemed topical today, since this event is often seen as the dawn of the visually packaged candidate. and where has that gotten us?

Boy, did that bring back memories! I was in the 4th grade in 1960. We had a televsion that was made by a company called DuMont and the screen was about as big as a hand-held mirror. We watched the debate that night, completely enthralled. My father was a Republican and he really liked Nixon. Mom, my sister, and I were more for Kennedy, although we weren't very verbal about it.

How time flies...and how different the world might be today if Kennedy had been allowed to complete two terms as president.
