Catherine, Dori, Lefty, PL,
Happier Holidays for you and yours.
My daughter had a heart attack March 31st followed by Deep Vein Thrombosis.
She's well now --her forner self!-- and the bills have been paid. Hurrah on both accounts.
During the months following the crisis, I was overwhelmed with duties amd had to abandon my Internet wok.
I haven't resumed it yet, but here lately I can indulge in lots of reading.
Right now I'm reading Peter H Wilson's *The Thirty Years War: Europe's Tragedy* Harvard Univ Pr 2009. (Hitler was unhappy the way it ended.)
I just finished Zeev Sternhell's *The Anti-Enlightenment Tradition.* Yale 2010 [sic]. Recommended.
I've also read Victor Klemperer's books:
(a) *I Will Bear Witness; A Diary of the Nazi Years 1933-1941*
(b) the same 1942-1945
(c) *The Language of the Third Reich.*
Cheers,
Jaspar
