TOO BAD CT CAN'T RECALL THIS IDIOT!

Lieberman jokes about waterboarding at black-tie dinner

At last night’s black-tie dinner at Washington’s Alfalfa Club, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) couldn’t resist cracking a joke about torture. Politico’s Mike Allen reports:

More from Senator Lieberman: ‘We had hoped Vice President Cheney would be here tonight. I hope it’s not his back injury that’s keeping him away. Apparently, he hurt it moving some things out of his office. Personally, I had no idea that waterboards were so heavy.

Last year, Lieberman, who has voted against banning waterboarding, “reluctantly acknowledged” that he doesn’t believe that waterboarding is torture. “It is not like putting burning coals on people’s bodies. The person is in no real danger. The impact is psychological,” he said.

Wow, somehow I missed his quote about the burning coals. I'd have to beg to differ...burning coals are torturous as well. Aside from the pain (isn't pain considered in the whole torture equation?), you will have to deal with burn scars, which in themselves are painful and last forever AND can become infected, etc.

I cannot believe that idiot keeps getting reelected.

If you can't walk, you can't work. Who is to say that actually hot coal torture isn't worse than water-boarding? Many more lasting effects are possible, seems to me. I don't suppose they've ever thought about this... I could see someone tortured with hot coals sitting in a wheel chair...making a very good suicide bomber.

Would Lieberman like to volunteer to see which is the most effective....waterboarding or hot coals?

Like the country preacher said many times in our church, "When a person speaks evil of another, and spreads the filth among the land, the devil will heap the hot coals of hell on him." I suppose I would go to hell for wishing Joe "Limberdick" Lieberman the best of the devils work.

It's too bad a state can impeach only its governor, and not its senator.

Lieberman has become irrelevant.

Being a former DINO, irrelephant, to be more precise.
