“Republicants” Deny The Sky Is Falling

Republicans in Congress couldn’t find it in their hearts to vote for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, commonly called the stimulus bill. They just can’t vote to support the American people – they’re “Republicants.”

In the House, not a single Republicant voted for this bill to create jobs and restore economic growth. In the Senate, three brave members of the GOP stood up to the Republicants gang to pass the Recovery Act and aid suffering Americans – Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania.

The GOP made it malevolently clear during their majority years in the Bush administration that they opposed anything that would strengthen America’s middle class, but its votes this week were based on deep, and frankly justified, fear of the Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Republicans are terrified of the Recovery and Reinvestment Act because if it works, if it creates jobs and helps stimulate the economy, then Americans will think good thoughts about government action and spending.And that could lead to new public support for government payments for important social safety-net programs like health care.

Here's my question. Why do they -- the GOP (self-described recently as the Taliban, out to bring down Obama) -- hate us?

I am more inclined to look at AIPAC's role. Both parties cower in fear and try to outdo each other to "prove" their enchantment with Israeli policies. Failure to do so results in the immediate wrath of AIPAC/ZOA. The normal punishment is the trusty "anti-semite" charge. They can also whip out "dangerous enemy of Israel" or "most dangerous enemy of Israel."

That has been incredibly expensive for the past number of years.

But look at the bright side. Israel has enjoyed the worlds hottest economy during latter years. So throwing ourselves on the mud, to be walked on, has paid off handsomely.

We offer tons of money, weapons, and advice. They sagely take the money and weapons while considering advice to be anti-semitic. You just have to love this.

THEY DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THE MONEY, BUT I'M BETTING THESE REPUB MAGGOTS WILL GRAB EVERY CENT THEY CAN GET!

GOP govs consider rejecting stimulus money

A handful of Republican governors are considering turning down some money from the federal stimulus package, a move opponents say puts conservative ideology ahead of the needs of constituents struggling with record foreclosures and soaring unemployment.

Though none has outright rejected the money available for education, health care and infrastructure, the governors of Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alaska, South Carolina and Idaho have all questioned whether the $787 billion bill signed into law this week will even help the economy.
